Vader at a podracing event? One things for sure expect a lot of "wizard" and "Boontaa Eve" references!

 

Imagine Luke driving a pod racer and the moderator screams: ,,And there is Sywalker!"

There’s a scene in one of the Alex Wheeler books where Luke is about to be in a podrace and everyone’s all nervous. Someone asks if humans can even do it. Threepio says something like “Well actually, examination of the historical records shows one instance...” and then he gets cut off before he can mention it was Anakin. I don’t see why Luke can’t know his dad won the Boonta Eve Classic. He already knows his father was a Jedi.

Yah the Luke image is odd but nicely composed cover and interesting idea. There better be Wizard is all I'm saying.

 

He's so worth it.

 

At least now we know what Vader's pastime is.

The art in the Sana bit looks great, and it's always nice to get a Sith-y story.

Oh, I like the interior art! And that we're getting another Sana Starros feature. And another member of Yasto Attsmun's species. And relics of Old Republic times. Lots to like here already.

Interesting that this annual takes place before the Showdown on the Smugglers Moon arc. I guess Luke and Sana won't meet in this one since she didn't know who Luke was in Showdown on the Smugglers Moon (Luke was mentioned by Han and Leia in that arc but Sana didn't recognize the name).

Could this mysterious "Darth Atrius" be the voice of the Sith Holocron in Rebels? The lightsaber design dates them to time of the Malachor Battle. Either way, it's neat to have a new canon sith lord.

 

Looks like it has been fixed on the final cover.

The Presence in the holocron was female; Atrius is stated as male here. But it's possible he's of the same era.

At first I did wonder if it was a bit of a portmanteau of Atris and Treya, so it'd have been nice for Atrius to have been female.

Strongly looking forward to learning about the Sith. I also wonder if cross-guarded sabers will be to the current canon as corded sabers were to the Legends canon.
