The Museum of Science and Industry is hosting Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination from October 5, 2007 to January 6, 2008, and Chicago Force plans to attend on Sunday, November 4, 2007 at 1:00 p.m.

If you have never seen any movie artifacts, there will be tons to see here. And the Museum has planned lots of hands-on exhibits for the kids (or those who just behave like kids) that connect Star Wars with the real world. It will be a great exhibit.

You must purchase your tickets directly from the museum here:

    http://www.msichicago.org/temp_exhibit/starwars/index.html

tickets are $21.00 for an adult and $16.00 for child (3-11)
for those of you who are Chicago residents, you get a discount, adult tickets $20.00 and child $15.25

These tickets include admission to the museum for a full day?s worth of family fun!

Chicago Force will meet for lunch at the museum ground level food court (as you walk in from the parking garage) beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Come join us for a great day of family fun!

EL EDIT: Title at starter's request.

I went to Columbus to see it....it is totally awesome...and not to be missed...especially the trip aboard the Millenium Falcon!

I costumed the Columbus event...and things were insane...sooo...

...to be honest...I plan on taking a day off during the week to REALLY see the exhibit with fewer crowds...and no costume....probably about mid-way through the exhibit's run...

I know I will be doing a few events in costume as well.....

I can't wait for this event.

There will be over 80 props and costumes, including Luke's landspeeder, R2-D2 and C3PO, and Liea's and Han's constumes.

If you have never seen real props - you need too.

And if you have seen some, there are props here that have not been seen before.

Does anyone know what props/costumes they will be displaying? I think most if not everything that is noteworthy has already been displayed. I'm hoping there is some new stuff.

There will be some new props at this exhibit, including the landspeeder and 2-1B, along with Han, Leia and Chewie costumes.

They are also building a Falcon cockpit where you can "jump" to lightspeed.

But the focus of the exhibit is how the movie stuff translates into real world technology. It is not just a prop and costume exhibit.
