Kashyyyk has potential to be the best map, with a combination of trees, ramps, a beachhead, and dense jungle to hide in. As long as it's not as frustrating to navigate as the Endor maps in BF1, it should be great!

When the last stage ends and you think you won, then it turns out the AT-AT was destroyed a second before.
    Really great when that happens.

I had played several rounds of Battle Station before, but today was the first time I realized that a player actually controls R2-D2 during the escape portion. I had always figured he was just moving on a set path, like the cargo sled in the Extraction game mode. This was a pleasant surprise.

You really have to rely on teammates in that mode. If the Rebels care more about going around killing Imperials than defending R2 you'll never make it to the extraction point. R2 is pretty vulnerable; the little taser weapon he has is nothing when you have a group of Imperials in your way.

I've been playing fighting games for 22 years. That genre has a history of putting the same person in the game twice. Kazuya Mishima and Devil Kazuya? Jin Kazama and Devil Jin? Cyber Smoke and Human Smoke? Sub-Zero and Cyber Sub-Zero? Ryu and Evil Ryu? Ken Masters and Violent Ken?

I don't see any reason the presence of Vader should disqualify Anakin from the roster.

It didn't in the original Battlefront II, and they were both on the same side. I don't see a reason why they both can't be included this time, though obviously with Anakin on the light side this time.

A new video released reveals the five modes and all maps. Sullust has been relegated to single player only, and Bespin is also solo exclusive. A new location - Pillio - is also solo exclusive along with Vardos. Fourteen multiplayer maps, though I won't list them all, with the Unknown Regions being a surprise. Blast returns, as does Heroes vs Villains. New mode Strike is a more strategic, objective-based mode. And of course, we have Galactic Assault and Starfighter Assault.

I'm a bit disappointed that there aren't more prequel maps, but I understand that there's a ton of other stuff to fit in the game. Just give me Geonosis, Coruscant, Utapau, and Mustafar at some point down the line and I'll be happy. I'm also surprised there was nothing added from Rogue One, especially Jedha City.

    It's so beautiful!

I imagine that they have DLC plans covering other planets.

At least there's Ryloth that's a good sign for what they could add in a TCW DLC but yeah, no Coruscant, Geonosis or Mustafar at launch leave me a little disappointed.

    14 heroes then that means:

    5-Luke
    6-Leia
    7-Vader
    8-Palpatine
    9-Ren
    10-Yoda

Apparently the other launch heroes/villains are:
    • Bossk
    • Lando Calrissian
    • General Greivous
    • Chewbacca
    (according to the interwebs)

I can't remember whether the game itself has a definitive answer, but I really hope there won't be a cross-era hero selection.

Yeah, on further reading it's not made crystal clear, but the beta will have both Rey and Maul, and the implication so far is that at least some modes of the game will allow you to pick any hero.

Forgot to say, that the offline solo or cooperative game mode sounds really encouraging. Sometimes I like to shoot bots up or just walk around and admire the gorgeous and faithful recreations.

If some of the modes let you pick any hero then Mos Eisley has too be a map you can do it on. Original BF2 players know why.

    Not Grievous. Iden.

Obi-Wan and Grievous are being worked on apparently.

5 is perfect. Even looking at vanilla 2015 there were too many modes to choose from which splintered player base, which is why they ended up having them as playlists.

I reckon that smaller modes like cargo run, extraction, sabotage might be on a rotating playlist in Strikes. To me that sounds like the small map mode which makes me happy.

Still limited information about arcade though. Everything else looks fantastic.

Isn't Arcade simply the multiplayer maps in offline?
