For example, my Darth Vader is rank 18. Which means I own a total of 18 cards for him; 9 unique cards, and several of them are upgraded to the second or third tier.

So if I crafted 10 cards for Rey, she'd be ranked 10?

    Yes exactly.

And if you upgrade 1 of your 10 cards so it has a grey and green dot, now you're level 11.

Like I said, pretty stupid huh? This system was designed to make people resort to microtransactions as the most valuable commodity in the game is crafting parts. Of which the majority come from loot boxes. By tying progression to crafting, they force you to need more boxes.

Yes. You can also get cards for her (or any other hero) randomly in your loot crates. So you don’t necesssrily have to go on a crafting spree right away. Open your crates as you get them, then craft whatever you’d like later.

But you have to purchase the hero loot boxes if you want their star cards, right? Normally (unless you're lucky), the hero star cards won't be included in the daily loot box giveaways.

Well yeah, but apart from unlocking a couple of the heroes, there isn't any use for credits as far as I can see. Once you've unlocked Chewie, Vader, etc., you should be buying crates as often as you are able.

Pretty much any card can be in any box. A hero box for instance only guarantees 1 hero card for sure. You can still get other classes cards and vehicle cards in hero boxes and vise versa.

In the end though it's all about crafting parts. They are the real goal in this game as they allow you to craft cards you don't have and upgrade cards you do. Which in turn increases your levels and unlocks additional card slots.

I'll be honest; kind of like the Fight Money in Street Fighter 5, I plan on saving my credits on characters that I have then intention of playing as. I immediately used them towards Iden and then Leia. I'm just curious as to the scheduling on any additional heros that will be added to the roster in the future.

The Naboo hanger map is so pretty. Why the heck is it only for only HvV? What a waste considering they use the blandest Naboo maps for Blast and Strike. The hanger map would work fine for those modes as well, and it's a crime it's not rotated in.

We need maps on Dagobah, Geonosis, and Coruscant too. A Galactic Assault map originating in the Senate and working your way towards the Jedi Temple would be hella epic.

I remember playing on the Geonosis map during the original BF2 (PS2 console). If I remember you even had the Geonosians as an option to select on the Separatist side; at least their weapons and vehicles.

Ooh, that was fun. I just used Vader's grip attack to grab Han Solo, and drop him off one of the Kashyyyk platforms.

So, Cr-2, Blurrg, rolling, and a bunch of other things are getting nerfed. Sigh... Nerfherders win again. Ridiculous.

Wait. ROLLING? Why in the worlds is that getting a nerf? At what point - especially with how it is at the minute - does that even qualify for a nerf?

Well, I'm not 100% sure of the why.

What I see people over at the official BF forum talking about is regarding removing "invincibility frames." Or some such something...

No idea exactly what that means. But I do know you are definitely afforded some level of immunity to gunfire as well as lightsabers when you roll. My assumption is that at certain points, or frames, of the roll animation hit detection is lower or maybe even nil. I assume it was meant to be that way to allow for further evasion when rolling. Apparently that's going away though.

Please keep in mind I'm likely getting much of that wrong. Lol... What I can say for sure is that in Dennis's notes via twitter rolling was def listed as an item getting a nerf.

I've had the game for several weeks now and I'm still not much more better in the non-hero ground modes. It just seems like the little mini radar doesn't show all of the enemies; and too often I just run right into an enemy's direct line of vision. The Heros v Villains mode is better. At least there there's only 8 players on the map, and they're all essentially relegated to the same small area of selected maps. I've "upgraded" both Rey and Iden using that star cards method we talked about. Still boggles the mind that that's how you level up. At least I'm getting fairly good with both characters. I haven't even played the campaign yet; which I plan on doing once I complete Horizon Zero Dawn.

Yeah, you can't rely too heavily on your radar during multiplayer. At best, it will show you the direction enemy fire is coming from, but it's not precise. You'll have to rely on watching the actual battlefield.

That said, there are a couple abilities for Assault, Specialist, Rey, and Boba Fett, which illuminate enemies better.

Yeah, as far as the assault class is concerned, I'll have to look out for those abilities. I'm not so much concerned with the heroes.

I'll be honest, even though I'm playing the new game, I'm still having some withdrawals of the previous game. I miss my Twi'lek as well as the ability to play as Jyn :(

It took me while to get used to the fact that the E-11 I used all the time in the last game is now pointless because of how inaccurate it is. Though I guess it makes sense with it being the weapon used by Stormtroopers.

Now that I have the A280 though I'm actually doing pretty well and I've moved up the ranks quite quickly.

Has anyone got the achievement for killing 3 people in one vanguard usage 5 times? I have been trying for it a bit but it's doing my head in. I either get shot to bits or run out before the third kill.

    The Vanguard medal? Yes.

Best bet is to flank around a group and get them from behind.

There's a spot in the Death Star map when playing Strike from the Rebel side where you can almost guarantee you'll get 3 kills if you do it right. Involves running out of bounds with vanguard on, using the speed to get you back in bounds before you die, and you enter the room the imperials are holding (with the package) from the rear hall. The ones hiding up the ramp get taken unawares almost every time.

Thanks for the tip. Also I've found when playing as the Separatists, you can get some easy kills by unloading your sentry on any Republic Gunship that passes by. It destroys them quickly and is basically a free kill. I'm sure a lot of people have already discovered this but just throwing it out there.

I find that whichever side is playing stormtroopers (or clonetroopers) has a disadvantage. The battle droids, Rebels, and Resistance troops are all dull shades of grey, brown, or green, and can blend into the environment better. And I'm not entirely certain, but the battle droids' narrower profile gives them a smaller hitbox as well. Meanwhile, the storm/clonetroopers are bright white and you can't miss seeing them. Kamino is the only map where the odds tilt in the clonetroopers' favor.
