Iden and Rey. I'd wish they could bring back Jyn from the original game so I'd use her on the Heroes side once in awhile.

I'm still hurt that EA won't seem to believe that a fully operational Star Wars game with bundles of Content will sell sell sell.

It's pretty ludicrous that this game is missing characters that were in BF 2015.

Rey's who I go with most of the time - Han and Leia are also a lot of fun.

I'm more interested in new hero's than old ones.
When TCW season comes out I will be spamming Anakin and Obi-Wan nonstop.

For now my preferred hero depends on my situation.
Lightsaber Hero's are very difficult to use on wide open forested maps, like Endor or Yavin; where an enemy could be hiding basically anywhere. So I gravitate towards long range hero's on those maps.
Palpatine is my preferred villain when he's working right, and Chewbacca for the hero's.

In close quarters Yoda rules in Galactic Assault, and either Kylo Ren or Maul for the villians. Depending on how much room there is to maneuver.

For Hero's vs Vilians I like pushing people into pits. So When there is a pit count on me choosing Luke or Maul.
Boba Fett on large outdoor maps.

Rey is a great hero to play as.

Just finished with the campaign stories. I dig how the story mode connects to the sequel trilogy. Showing how Kylo found out where San Tekka was, leading into TFA. And showing how they found out about the Dreadnaught plans, leading into TLJ. Small little touches but I thought they were cool.

Loved the campaign, too - BF2 also has a great tie-in novel, Inferno Squad. Unlike the terrible BF1 tie-in, it's a quick and exciting read, and lends a lot of depth to Iden, her family situation, and the greater conflict.

I like Palpatine (come back!), Maul, Luke, Leia and Yoda. I'd like to get better with Phasma too.

Played a little for the double XP weekend yesterday and leveled up a few classes. There's an overwhelming amount of things to level up, but it's fun to try lots of different characters, classes and vehicles!

It'd be super cool if EA brought Palpatine back and added a prequel look as an alternative skin.

Del’s fate was pretty damn dark. And I loved it - especially how Kylo looked down upon him as nothing but a traitor and deserter, which was very much in character for him. Del tries to escape his past but he never does. He dies thinking it’s likely his wife and daughter will be killed as well.

And as an aside, I honestly prefer the previous Battlefront's multiplayer...even though I probably like the maps in Battlefront II more.

Someone needs to explain the leveling/XP system in the game to me. Last night I thought I'd take advantage of the double XP weekend, right? So I went through a couple rounds of Heroes V. Villains and it showed that my level was raised to 25. I wanted that for Iden so I could give her the Max boosted star cards. But when I went back to the collections screen, she was still at Level 24. So there's a generic level for yourself that is separate from all of the characters available (including troops)? At least in BF 2015, you get the better upgrades (i.e. new skins and star cards) once you reach a certain generic level.

As someone who is new to this gen of gaming, I've noticed a lot with so called AAA titles the game comes out, then DLC and eventually a super Dulux edition of the game. That's what I'm after. I have no interest in the multiplayer modes just the campaign canon story.

As such I couldn't justify the cost at launch. But now you can pick this up for £20 or so. Ideally I would wait for the 'complete' version with the story dlc included but the bad press this game gets does anyone think that'll come out?

The story DLC, Resurrection, was a free patch, so there's no need to wait for a 'complete' edition of the campaign.

Supposedly the reason it was a DLC and not originally part of the game was due to some connection with TLJ, but after playing it any connections are extremely minor, not really spoiling anything.

The DLC is free so as long as you have any copy and internet access for the sake of downloading, then you can get "Resurrection" for free right away.

I think it had more to do with the connection making it more optimal to wait for TLJ to be released, as opposed to a spoiler reason

Thanks for both the responses. I could download the DLC no problem, but I have a real hatred of digital copies, as you don't really ever own them. As such I tend to gravitate towards a physical release that no games developer can ever switch off!

Every single class has their own level that rises with use. Any points gained using that class add to their level. That's it. The user level does seem pretty pointless now, since at least before it was the indicator of whether you could upgrade cards [though admittedly the class level was still needed].

But that's my point. After every match you see the user level bar grow; but it seems to move a lot quicker than the individual class bars. I've been using Iden ever since I got the game earlier in the year; and she still hasn't reached level 25 yet. It's very frustrating. The only reason I played the game this past weekend was to take advantage of the Double XP bonus; but it didn't seem to help much.

Been a while since I've actually been online with the game, so I can't really say much else about it. All I can say is that heroes seem much harder to level up in my early experience with the system, having seen regular classes shoot up in level while heroes - even when I've done good with them - haven't seen much change past the first ten levels. I can only assume that's because they have less cards so they don't want you reachest the maximum easily.

Ever forget about a blaster in this game, then remember how much fun it was and tear it up?

I'd forgotten how good the officers S-5 was being the Blurrg and SE-44c overshadow it with their power and ease of use, respectively.

But man, mid to long range that gun is a stone cold killer. Unforgiving if you miss up close with it's slow rate of fire. But super powerful. 2-3 shot heavies, 1 shot specialists up close. Demolishes enforcers.

If you happen to have good aim and enjoy skill weapins, it's super fun.

S-5 is definitely my weapon as the officer. In general, I like heavier weapons that kinda kick a bit if you fire it, and sound like they've just been used. It can cause some problems up close, but you can also snipe snipers, so it's a lot of fun for me too. :)

My biggest complaint with the S-5 has nothing to do with the blaster itself, but more with the game being so glitched. The reticle often changes after respawning. It's annoying. Happens with other blasters as well. But always with the S-5 I've noticed.

Everyone on this game takes ages to die. Wookie Warrior is a ridiculously overpowered enforcer. He's much better than all the others in health and damage. Palps is also OP. Sometimes you end up joining the server you JUST left. I can see why many don't like BF II at least, but it is KIND of fun...

I'm not as disappointed over Palpatine's health than his ridiculous jump-and-hover ability that the players take advantage of. That is so incredibly cheap; it's worse than Boba Fett. At least Boba's jet packs take up fuel and need to be recharged. When Palpatine is the enemy target, all the player needs to do is keep jumping up and down. Pair THAT with the substantial health he has and it's nearly impossible. The only way I've killed Palpatine is when I catch the enemy player behind his back while he's preoccupied and not the target.
