JCC Star Wars Celebration VI announced!

Personally I wish it had been Indy and say June, or July, but if I start now(or so) I can save enough to at least go and meet people I have been typing at for years(maybe).

 

It's not until 2012.

That sucks. You are one of the folks I always wanted to meet(it is a distinguished list make no mistake).

 

I too wish it had been in May - to avoid hurricane season as well as allow people who couldn't attend last time to go.

Oh well. I'm glad there was an announcement, but bummed that many students and parents may not be able to attend. We'll miss you, horsey, KW, Espy, et al.

Disappointing to see it in Florida again.

 

I am not really too keen on it being at the end of August after two very quiet hurricane seasons. Plus I am moving FROM Florida next week and I didn't have any intentions of ever coming back

Still won't be able to go though. I'll be just out of University, (probably jobless) and without a penny to my name.

 

I think pretty much the only way I'm ever going to this is if they put it in the LA area sometime. Ironically I'm going to be in Orlando for those dates this year. But next year I'm hoping to have a job by that time and will have started recently and probably can't just suddenly take off.

Which is a shame because I have my Disney World annual pass too.

I think a signed RoboTom picture would be a sound investment.

If it was LA, I'd consider it much more seriously.

If it was 2013, I'd consider it much more seriously. But next August? Sorry.

 

I'd like someone to explain to me what the potential advantages of both Orlando and the latter part of August are. It disqualifies a lot of students and younger people who can't make it during that time, and it heavily favors a particular region of the country that isn't always the best with regard to weather during that time of year (August 24, 2012 will be 20 years since Hurricane Andrew made landfall). It's hot and also humid. When you take into account the advantages of placing it earlier in the year and/or a different location, the announcement just does not make sense to me.
