CVI Star Wars Celebration VI Aug 23-26 2012

I wonder if the gold designation has a "solid" reference behind it, as in the date/location have been "solidified" now...

 

One can only guess.

With as late as it's getting, though, I'm going tgo go out on a limb and put out this predition:

Either August 2012 somewhere REEEEALLY far North, or May 2013 in San Francisco. (Hey, Frisco makes sense! Lucasfilm would be at their home base!

Personally I'm crossing my fingers for the latter...

 

First the logo was silver, now it's been changed to gold.

I'm assuming platinum will be next?

 

I think it's just a sign of progression. Nothing more.

 

Well i hope we get it in the next few days eh ?

Well, since no one has surmised the meaning of the logo now being gold, I'll offer a few suggestions:

1. California had a gold rush, LFL and Skywalker Ranch are near San Francisco, CA has SDCC and the Rose Parade, so the surprise city for C6 must be Oakland!

2. Oro is Spanish for gold, so C6 must be taking place in Florida, a land founded by the Spanish...oro, land, it must be back in Orlando.

3. Bring the Coors Light!! It's going back to its C1 roots by being near Denver, in Golden Colorado!!

4. C3PO is golden in Return of the Jedi, and since C4 and 5 have honored Episodes 4 and 5 respectively, C6 must be honoring Return of the Jedi. And since C3PO and R2 were rescued from the sand in RotJ, C6 must be taking place in the sand dunes outside of Yuma Arizona!!! Surprise!!

 

It'll have gone rusty by time we get the actual announcement!

It better NOT be in Oakland! That's one of the most dangerous cities in the country!

I'm still sticking with 'Frisco though...or maybe somewhere up North, like say Seattle? 'Cause it's been in the Midwest, the Southeast, and the Southwest. Just need to stick it on the Northeast and the Northwest to make it even.

Although, to really be fair, it has to be in each area an equal amount of time. MidWest had it three times. That's enough, IMO. Give the people in other parts of the country a break!

 

I would much rather prefer Celebration be held at the same centrally-located venue every year.

I'm sure there are at least a few convention centers located in the middle of the country that can easily accommodate 25K+ fans (both in size of the CC itself and number of affordable hotels in close proximity).

That way fans will always know how to plan/budget accordingly for each future Celebration.

Im just saying here.. Everyone remember that questioner you got about how did you like OCCC ? I bet anything its in Orlando Again. Witch Im ok with that unless it wants to be back in Indy.

 

I'm fine with it being Orlando and the OCCC again. In fact it's our preferred location. I just want an announcement at this point. Then to book my tickets and then let all of the info roll in!

We are going to O'Lando again, but at the end of August? I don't get that. But it doesn't matter I already have my hotel reserved. I can't wait. Aug 2012 can't come soon enough!

 

It's probably a contract the signed with Reed for a multiple Celebration deal in Orlando.
