I heard one of the podcasts which interviewed Steve Sansweet. He stated that it would be in 2012, and most likely every other year there after. They will move not just around the country, but around the world, folding in the other Interational celebrations.

Time to start saving up for Europe or Asia? I think that Australia is due!

It'd be awesome to go to a Celebration in Europe or Australia!

I believe the rumor at CV was every two years alternating between US and Europe, which would make US every four years (kinda like winter and summer Olympics). Samsweet maybe doing interviews, but I thought he retired and was no longer in charge of the Celebrations (correct me if I'm wrong). I know that Reed Productions has a three (year? or celebrtion?) contract with Orlando Convention Center, so CV - CVII has to be in Orlando (unless contracts are broken). It doesn't matter at this time where the celebrations are, I can't afford them anymore. I'm either stuck with horrendous gas money for the RV, or horrendous hotel prices. If I do go I (with at least one other to help with gas expense) need to drive down with my cot and crash in someone's room. If I can get at least four - five committed for an RV trip, I might consider bringing the motorhome. I'll be bringing AL, so I kinda have to drive. It's expensive any way you look at it...

And then there's the problem of a cat sitter. I can't leave my two senior cats alone for a couple weeks, and the home sitters around Aurora charge $25 a day (just to feed and play with them for half an hour!). I refuse to put them in a shelter where they can get sick and die! By the way, can anyone catsit for me June 9th-13th? Five days? Email me at lynellephi@yahoo.com asap if you can. I'm kinda desperate.

Sansweet was turned into a contract employee doing the same thing he has been doing...Looks like a case of Lucasfilm downsizing

    Here's the podcast
    http://www.fluctu8.com/podcast-episode/episode-291-a-chat-with-lucasfilm-consultant-steve-sansweet-3507-71692.html

Also, it has been said that the Orange County Convention deal was 2 years, with REED POP, and not necessarily with Lucasfilm.

I think that LFL loves to tease us, so who knows?

    ------------
Lynelle, while vet places aren't always great, there's a place in Loveland called the Cat House, which is dedicated to making kitties comfy.

Perhaps this would be an option? Boarding facilities are highly regulated for cleanliness, and no goggies, so they would be happy

Thank you, Kat, for the podcast link. There's just too many rumors out there, and this helps sort it all out. It sounded like he kinda confirmed 2012 during this podcast back in mid-April. If I had known I would have never gone to DroidCon so I could save money. I only learned of this 2012 about three weeks ago, and now I might be financially in trouble. I have to cancel D*Con and a couple other cons because of this (Contagion Con is a go because I'm giving a panel). It's just way too soon for me, but I'll probably go anyway, for AL if nothing else.

Also, the Cat House charges the same $25 a day for the two of them, plus the gas to take them there and back. It looks fantastic, but my cats do prefer to stay at home. Thank you for the info, I might use them for CVI if I can't find anyone at that time.

In addition to the orange, I believe they also wore gray jumpsuits... Their original squadron designation was Gray Squadron

Yeah, I heard the rumor about cycling it through Europe and other places. Hmm. Much as I would like to travel like that, I wouldn't do it for a con. Too expensive. If I'm going to Europe, it would be to see Europe and spend all my time sightseeing - so very many places and things to see. I think I'll stick with US Celebrations.

I'd like to give Reed Exhibitions and Lucasfilm major props for their quick (about a week after the tease) and early announcement. They also have details already up that they didn't initially last time, like hotel information.
