Seattle Symphony is doing a Star Wars concert September, 29th,30th and October 1st and 2nd. Best time to go would probably be October 1st since it is a Sunday and its a better time for parking and its less crowded. Maybe we could all go as a group and car-pool. It's a matinee at 2:00. Maybe the Spokane group would like to come for this if its feasible for them. Tickets start at $20.00. We can discuss it at the next meeting.

Sounds good, but my calendar shows Oct 1st as a Saturday, so should we plan for October 2nd then?

You can pay for parking when you get your tickets. There are several parking garages near Benaroya. There is a matinee on Saturday as well.

The Star Wars Spectacular is part of the Seattle Pops series and is conducted by Erich Kunzel. John Williams will NOT be there.

This kind of goes along with Star Wars music, Classic King FM (98.1 fm) is going to showcase Star Wars and LOTR music on Saturday Aug. 13th. It is part of their KidsFM Ring cycle morning show and starts at 8:30am. Now I just have to see if I can get up that early! They will also probably mention the upcoming Star Wars concert at Beneroya as well.

    Thanks for that info Ammers!
I will be painting my living room tomorrow and having my radio dial tuned to that station will be the perfect accompaniment to the task!

Oh yeah Marlow, I meant to ask before- is Oct 1 the day of your B-day or will it be the Saturday after? Or is it still up in the air as to the date?

If we can get a guarantee of at least 10 people attending this concert, I can get us a group discount of 10% on the tickets and they would throw in a complementary 11th ticket.
Now I called the group discount office and there is limited availability on getting a group of 10 in seats together but. If I can get at least ten people to guarantee me that they will be going, I can make the reservation on then we would have to pay by the first week of Sept.
We are talking about Oct 2nd matinee and right now we can get seats in the third tier for $27 (and if we get 1 more person for the extra ticket, then we could all be paying less than 27) at the group rate, that is the only availability together right now. I think we could get the same for the Saturday matinee but we would have to break up into groups of three and be a little scattered.
I was also told that there is more availability of seating for the Saturday Oct 1 at 8pm show, the prices are the same as for the matinees.

Please either come to the meeting this Sunday (see thread in this forum for details), PM me, or post to this thread to add your input on if you will definitely want to go, which day/times you are available (and also if you are flexible on the time) A decision on this has to be made soon or we may not be able to get in for a group rate due to not having enough seats available

See this link for details on seating and pricing for the show:

Hello there....this is your little adoptee from Victoria. :) I just wanted to let you guys know that my brother and I will be making it down there for the Saturday afternoon concert show (the 1st) - the tickets will be waiting for us when we get there....seemed like the best option, 'cause that way we won't lose 'em between Vancouver and Seattle. ;) So we'll be down there....and surely we'll have the chance to see you guys, meet some folks, right? I'd quite like it if something like that could be arranged....meetin' another fun bunch of fans....nothing better than that, by my reckoning. I've already mentioned it to my brother, and he seems up for it as well....so, yeah - we're coming all this way, we'd love to see you guys too! :D Oh, I can hardly wait....

    Dawn.

We have Saturday evening tickets so we'll just miss you. It would be cool to meet other fans though.

Aaahhh, drat! :) Well, it's seeming now as though we'll have to head down there day before....probably stay the night at one hotel or another, close if not in downtown and thus also close enough to the symphony....so, I mean, when we do have a better sense of when we'll be making it down there (note to self: must figure this out ASAP....must keep closely conferring with brother....) - well, I dunno, maybe we can still manage something.... *shrugs* Is everyone goin' to the Saturday evening concert, then? Ah well....if so, have fun - as I know you will, and as we certainly will a little while before.... :) Oh, *such* fun, truly....

Dawn. (who still hopes that it would be nice to meet some of you fine folks!)

Our Everett group is going Sat night. Who knows about other groups? *Shrugs* Still like the idea of meeting sometime. Hopefully the others will pop in here with ideas.

I very much like that idea too, and shall keep up hope and see what happens. :D Do you guys know if you might be getting together for a bit after the evening concert? My brother and I will, of course, have to stay over that night as well.... (no other easy way to really wrangle it with the Quick Coach schedule) ....so of course, yes - if there ever was a way to somehow finagle even a short little meet and greet, just to touch base and say hi....putting names to the faces, as it were....well, as I've said, I'd certainly enjoy that. :) Let's keep our fingers and toes crossed, then, that maybe something can be arranged....can't hurt, anyway! I mean, when it comes to meeting other fabulouso fans, it's *always* worth that proverbial shot.... :D

I have confirmation that three of our sister club The Spokantina will be joining us for the concert that night.
I was corresponding with TK-3374 and he wanted to know if we plan to attend in costume, he's going to be wearing his officers uniform.
Do we want to do this event in costume as well?
I think it will be fun, and if some others of you do it too, I won't look too funny walking around the streets of Seattle in my Jedi costume, LOL!
