No sorry, couldn't make it. Very bad of me I know, but some personal problems came up and Darth RL scuppered my plans to get a pic with everyones favourite Welsh Padme yet again.

Sorry Sakara, I'll make it up to you. How do you feel about the title "The CR's Hand"?

Well, i'll have a word with the big man upstairs.

I'm sure he's got a thing for you anyway, so it shouldn't be that hard to convince him. ;)

So did you have a good Christmas?

    Get any nice costume accessories?

I think I'm being besmirched here or something...

Can't really just give out titles willy-nilly though...

Ah go on, go on, go on, go on.

You will! Go on, go on, go on.

Besides, i'd be more worried if you didn't have a thing for an attractive young female Star Wars fan.

    We are but human.

Or at least most of us are. Not to sure about some of the Scottish posters. ;)

Hey, I just mentioned you. In the "Bloody relationships" thread!

    How weired is that?

Wow, sounds like a cool costume. Wasn't overlykeen on the movie though, but it did have good production values, even if it was boring and made no sense??

    So........

Anything else planned for this year?

There's an extended/unedited cut of the movie?

Hmmm, sounds interesting. I was not aware of that.

Any ideas where I could get hold of a copy?

Good luck with the business by the way. You know, if you need someone to play the part of the "board member number 4", let me know. I've made that part my own.

I got mine from play.com international as its only region1 that has the extended version. It has this whole side story about Riddicks race the furions and how hes the one to bring the necros down even though he really doesnt care!!

I too have the extended version and it's brilliant. Far better than the normal one (which I still loved!)

The entire Furian sub-plot worked really well for me, especially considering Riddick's indifference to it all.

Wasn't there supposed to be a third installment in the works? I think they shelved it after the second one did poorly at the box office.

but it didnt bomb it actually did well at the box office. I think Vin Deisel wanted to do other stuff before coming back to Riddick. I hope so anyway as id love to see what he does after becoming lord of the Necros!

    According to boxofficemojo, Riddick made:

$115,366,752 worldwide, which isn't too bad.

But it had a production budget of $105 million and a marketing budget of $35 million, meaning overall that it lost the studio $35 million.

When you look at it like that, it doesn't really stand up.

Shame they didnt release the film in the full version at the cinema ,that you can get as dvd,its such a good story idea.
Theres been so many films that didnt do well at the box office..yet sequals are made. fingers crossed this will be one of them.

Any idea what story line the sequal will follow?

I've only seen Riddick once, so I can't really remember what happened. But didn't end up as the Necropheliacs king or something?

Riddick beat the necromonger overlord and as their law states, what you kill you keep. so he became the ruler. No idea what story it would take maybe delving into Riddicks Furian past, as the special edition shows that furians have some sort of power that the necros knew about and thats why they destroyed his planet first.
