STAR WARS: DARTH PLAGUEIS Novel

Why such excitement for a relatice no name that only exists (for now) in here-say and rumor?

Except for a few Exceptions, most notebly Kreia(former jedi), possibly Malagus, Revan(Former Jedi) and and Teneb Kel, I find they are all the same.

All like killing, all tend to fly off the handle, and all are emotionaly dead except for the most negative emotions.

What in the Bane books Diffrentiated Bane from Zanna? Or Bane's mind set from Palpatine's?

 

I think its a simple fixation with the unknown, really.
There is one thing that this Plagueis' novel can clear up, once and for all.

And, I'm foolish-enough to think this book will answer the one "ambiguous" question that still plagues (heh) the saga as a whole.

 

Heh, I forgot about that. Still, it would be possible for the novel to keep Palps himself off-screen and just focus on Plagueis and whoever his Master was. Palpatine's true origins should stay mysterious...

YES!!!! Finally. And the fact that its still going to be Luceno makes this news even better.

Lets just hope it doesn`t get ripped away from us again. You never know what will happen.

 

i hope this will quell the theory that darth plagueis created anakin wich i don't belive. if he created life then it has to be palpatine.

It was so disappointing when this novel was cancelled!

 

Because Plagueis was actually mentioned in the movies?

Unlike Bane, dozens of un-named customers from the Mos Eisley-cantina or the thugs from Jabba's palace, who don't matter at all to the overal plot, but still got a name and adventure in a short-story?

 

Call me a pessimist but I won't be happy until I've actually bought the book and have it in my hands. It's still nineteen months away and could get delayed or even cancelled(again). Even worse, it could be horrible and/or incredibly short.

I'm not sure Palpatine's origins ARE mysterious.

I just thought he was a child taken by the Sith and warped into the Darkseid analogue we know and loathe.

 

I've never heard that. Where did that come from?

If this gets canceled again, I'll blame Dark Horse.

 

Dark Horse is responsible for the rise of the Trade Federation, the Fall of the Republic, and the rise of Daala.

It's because Randey Stradley is a Sith Lord.

Only the Dark Side could explain such consistently good comics!

 

I always hated the immaculate conception of Anakin and I dearly hope there is some reason behind it rather than just the easy answer of "The will of the force"

It occured to me that maybe Palpatine impregnated Shmi through the force, but might be even better if Plagueis did it for some reason and then Palpatine just took advantage of it after Plagueis death.

 

I hope they keep this in the "Dark Lord of the Sith" category of books. The Bane trilogy, along with Rise of Darth Vader were all great, and I'd like to see other Sith Lords fleshed out. I know others have mentioned before, and maybe we might see this after SWTOR is released, but a Revan/Malak book and/or Cognus/Milennial book would be cool. There are so many Sith to explore and I think that their personalities could vary enough to warrant novels.

 

Yay, here's hoping it turns out good! I'm almost afraid that it might've been better to leave Plagueis and Palpatine's origins alone, but Luceno is usually pretty dependable for a decent book. And if it clears up that Anakin wasn't created by a Sith (hopefully), that will definitely make this novel worth it. Nice to see it come back, here's hoping nothing else happens to it between now and 2012.

 

I to am excited. But I hope that if Palps is in the novel he is cool, other than that fear it should be a very adequate novel.

I won't get excited until more details become clear, and we are told that it won't be canceled

 

Oh, God, no.

Here's praying that the novel focuses on Plague to the exclusion of Palp as much as possible, and ends loooong before any recorded Palp material.

IMO, Palp is the spider at the center of an enormous web that needs to be assumed to exist behind the scenes for me to be able to buy a lot of stuff we have been served. A novel describing the spinning of that web can only ever fail at accounting for such an unbelievable task. A continuity nightmare-in-waiting.

 

Dude. It's Luceno.

 

Luceno is the god of continuity. He basically makes it a habit to stick as many random characters/references into a story as possible. Then attempts to outdo this achievement by sticking even more references into his next novel.

 

He has such a knowledge of the canon he can influence the references to create... continuity. He is so powerful and so wise, he can even prevent the continuity he cares about from dying.

Damn, I could do these all day.
