If Zannah could personally check the Jedi-archives and if Maul and Sidious could spend a day in the Jedi Temple Courtyard; naming all the Jedi they planned to whack, then I'd say Plagueis could get as close to them as he desired.;)

    EDIT:
I'd lulz my arse off if Plagueis worked as a janitor, or in the foodcourt of the Jedi temple.

Hahahaha, very true! Guess the Jedi needed to learn that people may die, but teachings and ideas don't.

    Jedi Temple food court, 55BBY.

Windu: "Can I have a quarter pounder with cheese please?"
Plagueis: "You know what they call a quarter pounder with cheese on Myrkr?"
Windu: "A quarter pounder with cheese?"
Plagueis: "No, they have the metric system over there, it's called a royale with cheese"
    Windu:...
    Plagueis:...
    Windu: o_O
    Plagueis: "Enjoy your meal, sir."

    Ironic.

Zannah said almost as much, right after she annihilated 99% of Bane.
"An individual may day, but the Sith are eternal."

Nah, he's in the Senate signing the Banking Clan's treaties as Senator Hill of Muunilinst.

"Darth Plagueis will kill you now!" - Plagueis.

It'd be funny if Plagueis talked in third person like Hill.

    Speaking of which...

this novel would reach unprecedented heights of awesomeness if it were written in the first person.

I'd rather find out how Sidious tried to kill him, rather he smothered him with a pillow or what.

Yes I say tried since Plagueis is San Hill.:p

Have any Star Wars novels been written in First Person yet?

I, Jedi is the only complete first-person novel to date. It's definitely one of the better EU novels, and I'd say a good part of that reason was the decision to make it first-person to begin with. I wasn't even much of a Corran Horn fan before I had read it, but once you spend a few hundred pages inside a character's head, they take on a whole new perspective.

In general, first-person hasn't been very popular in the EU for some reason. IIRC, Ephant Mon's stories in the Tales anthologies were written that way, and a couple of parts in Shatterpoint. Other than that, I can't think of any others.

This novel should be called Star Wars: Dark Side of the Muun, that's all.

First person presents a whole array of challenges to the writer that can be avoided with third person. But when it is well executed I think it can be vastly superior to third person prose. Classics like Huck Finn and new novels like the Hunger Games would not have been nearly as good in 3rd person.

Part of the Nightlily audio adaptation was first-person, narrated by Feltipern Trevagg. Though it had some third-person parts too. Including the most ridiculous death/sex scene ever. Bar none.

I want to say there have been a number of RPG blurbs and short stories written in first-person too, but I can't recall any other names offhand.

I know there have been a ton of ~1-paragraph excerpts from RPGs and other sourcebooks in FP, but when it comes down to the short stories, very, very few altered from the usual 3rd person, even when they didn't need to be (come to think of it, an awful lot of time is wasted on italicized internal monologues in some of those).

Indeed. And it also depends on the author. For instance, Stackpole and Stover are great when it comes to getting inside people's heads. It's their strong suite. But when I think of what Luceno's done, his writing often hinges on the different perspectives of the various characters involved in the scene, often something with a political focus. So although I'd love to see this novel as a FP account of Plagueis's Sithly adventures, I can't see Luceno forsaking the chance to stick every-single-character-alive-during-that-timeframe into the story, which seems to be his habit, and which he probably can't manage in FP alone.

I'm looking forward to this book more than anything else that's coming out! :D Everytime this thread is bumped, I'm half-worried it's been cancelled again
