Star Wars: Darth Vader [PS2? / ???] ** Rumour **

I just hope that it comes out period and then we will worry about platforms.

Darth_Kevin i know your joking,but that is a rather cool idea.

 

I was only half joking. I know that LucasArt would probably never make or license such a game, but it would fit in with the time period of between Episodes III and IV.

It would be cool to go around taking out Jedi and being an all around Imperial baddie.

Eurogamer.net has a small article about rumors of a new game being developed by LucasArts, and shrouded in secrecy. What was originally toted as an Episode 3 game, is no longer nessesarily under that banner and instead is a "Major Darth Vader game".
"They're being seriously cagey about it, but apparently it's a third-person action affair with the player taking on the role of Vader," one spy told Eurogamer. "It's a major Lucas project."
Activision, the publisher of LucasArts games in Europe, issued the standard response today. "There's no comment on matters of rumour and speculation," a spokesperson told us.

This has great potential... but *shudders*
...I'd hate to see Darth fumbling due poor controls/ bad camerawork.

It would be cool if the game was simply called "Vader."

i hope this game does happen and we can play as one of the most bad to the bone villians.

 

I think LucasArts has another Game of the year on their hands. I don't agree with it being better than KOTOR, but i do think it will be amazing.

 

And you're basing that on nothing but the title character being known?

You're braver than I thought.

 

The problem I see is that I don't see LucasArts making a REAL Vader game with all the killing and death we know had to have happened during the Jedi purge and rise of the Empire.

Damn straight. I've been playing LucasArts (well, "LucasFilm Games") games since before they even had the Star Wars license (it was owned by Broderbund back in the day), and to see them abandon the genre (and the characters) that helped establish the company (and my brand loyalty) is heartbreaking.

 

If you play as DV than it is going to be a great game.

 

I'm 97% sure that in a Darth Vader game, you would play as Darth Vader.
