Star Wars Day @ Arbour Lake!

The Arbour Lake Community Association wants to hold a Star Wars day for area residents, and Badlands & FanForce are the stars!

They've invited FanForce and Badlands to be the stars and come have a fun day with kids. Their last (non-movie-related) public event had nearly 1600(!) attendees!!!! We could get a LOT of attention here.

So let's get a HUGE turnout!

Secure change area is provided, as well as water. We'll only be in costume for an estimated 2-3 hours... as the event won't be super-long.

They've already advertised an "Afternoon with Star Wars" in our local community newsletter, and that it'll happen in June. They're advertising in the next newsletter, and putting big signs up around the area.

It's all about US gang!

This is not just a costume event as we will most likely have a table there. This can be used to bring attention to our great group and get everybody involved.

This just in! I was able to trade that day with a coworker, so I will be there! Barring any new (serious) injuries of course. I plan on going Mando, to make up for CCEE.

I plan to come down in Jedi robes and with my 6 year old as Leia.
RM, you can use the display board for this if you want, so no need to bring it to Sunday's meeting.

I'll be in Jedi robes, my six year old will be Leia and as we speak my wife is making a Jawa costume out of a brown hoodie of mine for my 3 year old.

Great turnout today! The kids and parents had a really good time. Thanks to everyone who participated!

Had a great time by the way even though I thought it was going to be bigger. This was my first constumed event. Thoroughly enjoyed it, as did the family. Great to meet some of the 501st guys. Spoke to Dave Vader as I may be interested in costuming as Darth Maul.
Is it normal that 501st and FanForce will stand separately or is it just because we don't know each other that well?
Anyway, great time and a nice start to the season....slowly building to SW in Concert, and then onto CELEBRATION BABY!!!

It's not a conscious thing, Vinny. Not everyone knows everyone in each group. And the 'good' guys and 'bad' guys tend to band together .
The FanForce is fortunate to have a really good relationship with the local 501st garrison. Practically all of the local members of the 501st Badlands Garrison are members of the FF - they just don't come out to meetings often. But not all members of the FF are 501st members - as they're primarily a costume group, with very specific requirements.
