#1 has been set aside for Madame President.

 

Madame President doesn't deserve #1 as she totally blew it and forgot that she was supposed to get the Clone Helmet down to the library tomorrow to show off. I'm so sorry!

Aren't I supposed to have people to do that kind of thing for me?????

 

We'll have some spots reserved in Arbor Court. The back entrance to the Rehearsal Hall (the changing area) is right adjacent to Arbor Court, so loading and unloading will be a snap. For those of you were were at the telethon a few months ago, you'll be changing in the same room as then.

 

The initial ticket release was extremely successful. From 2-5pm we handed out 650 tickets, not counting another 100 or so at the Archibald branch library. We handed out 400 in the first 45 minutes, and had over 100 people lined up before we even started the handout.

I really want to thank Glen and his son Eric(Erik?) for coming out today. The kids got real excited, and well the teens and adults did as well. Poor Eric had to stand in 93 degree temp in a Jawah costume. In the past it's taken us a whole week to hand out 1000 tickets, to do 650 in three hours is just amazing. The cool thing is that those people who got tickets, have no idea how amazing it's going to be, most of them didn't have a full idea about how much stuff there is going to be. So when they see it, heads are going to explode.

I think we've all got the planning pretty well down, and now it's just up to Allen and I to finalize some of the logistics, but we've got a great night lined up.

Once we factor in all of the Friday night mall traffic, i think we're looking at a huge group.

So far we've given out about 900 tickets.

BTW the bonus features on the Fanboys DVD gives some shoutouts to the 501st and FanForce. I invite everyone to meet Kyle Newman at the PAB event, he's a very cool guy and clearly a fan. You won't be disappointed.

 

Buy your DVDs from another store beforehand folks. While Border is a great store they overcharge for DVDs & CDs. You will definitly find it cheaper at Target/Wal-Mart.

I'm so glad that Saturday went so well!! Glen and Aaric are really "troopers" and I'm sure were great crowd pleasers!

So that means the Star Wars Night event. Yes they are great guys, as are you all.

 

Saturday went great, despite the heat. Glen and Aaric are great guys, i can't express how much i appreciate them. We've now given out out 1000 tickets, not including staff and VIP.

 

i'm going to get a price quote from Borders ASAP, explaining to them the price points that other retailers are using. Allen will play good cop first and then i get a crack if that doesn't work.

Well obviously Han-Shot-First got past library defenses and got his hands on a bunch of shwag. But honestly Allen and I really enjoyed his enthusiasm. As of Monday we had given out all 1000 tickets, though we had to print up a few more due to communication errors. So that's about 1100 tickets there, already out in the community. And that doesn't count the inevitable mall traffic the day of the event. We talked with HSF about where to put the IEFF table, and we;ve got a couple spots picked out.

Met with and 2orking with theatre staff to set up some cool lighting.

But we'll be making you proud and provide you with a venue to show off and have a lot of fun.

 

But, they all have my last name on them; that means they're MINE!!!

 

Very, very cool!!!!

I picked up my own Fanboys DVD at Target. The price is much better. I have just got to remember to bring it with me that night.
The 5pm time sounds good for us too, that day.

RE: Fanboys

I attended the DVD release party at the Golden Apple Comic store on Melrose.
Fantastic turnout! More than 200 people showed up.
Obi-Shawn and the 501st were there.

And they only ordered 36 copies of the DVD which of course sold out in minutes.
Still everyone was happy and it was a great party!

It's great to see all these people interested in coming. It really means a lot to Allen and I, and I know it'll mean a lot to the 1000+ people that came for tickets. Kari was kind enough to stop by the library today and it's great to see her enthusiasm and the enthusiasm of Mike and Chris. It helps Allen and i know that we're on the right track. If anyone's got a great SW BS detector it's you guys. Any and all input it greatly helpful and appreciated. And your participation is just amazing. To all of you, thank you so much.

(to be honest when one of the clerks said that someone was looking for me i figured it was this lady that i had scolded a few minutes prior)

Addendum, are there any members who are vegan and would prefer not to eat cheese. We want to get you all some pizza prior to the event.
