TV Discussion Star Wars Detours

Remaking an old thread (surprised no one already did it).

So, Star Wars Detours. It looks funny (which is probably what they were going for). At the moment it's set to release in 2013.

Weak, losing. Looks like it was created by green oompa loompas flailing their arms and minds around.

 

I think "Detours" is an apt name for this show. It's a detour from more appropriate Star Wars television shows. Star Wars spoofs can be funny in small doses, but an entire show?

 

I wonder how long this will last.

 

This stuff is so lame, it makes me want to kill babies.

 

Definitely going to be on my shows to watch list, at least at first. If it doesn't work out, it's not the end of the world, but it'll be amusing in the meantime.

 

The animation reminds me of Lucy Daughter of the Devil. I didn't find the trailer to be particularly funny but we'll see. I would of rather Adam Reed or maybe the folks behind Venture Brothers do an SW animated comedy.

 

I'll definitely check this out and give it a shot. There were definitely cool moments in the trailers. Hard to pass up anything Star Wars, especially when the people behind it are so passionate about the saga.

This show doesn't get rerun enough. Screw Wilfred.

 

The matte painting made me laugh, as well as Obi-Wan stealing "grocery money" (people wanted to know why he does for a living ) . And I though Dengar was funny in RC, so hopefully that carries over. But for the most part, those clips are painful to watch, especially the Leia clip and the Han/Chewie arguing like a married couple bit.

 

Funny at first, then it kinda just depressed me to be honest.

 

Looks like a fun show, not loads of laugh out loud moments but c'mon lets give the show a fighting chance. We should at least actually watch a couple of episodes before writing it off.

 

This is wonderful news for people who care about keeping SW alive and great news for star wars overall. We got another show. A harmless, spoof show. It only serves as a testament to how much love and enthusiasm people have for the saga. We get are own star wars version of saterday night live and still the famous negativity from some so called fans, the same people that complained when TCW were announced and then when ashoka was created and so on and so on.

I for one cannot wait for this show. I think it looks hilarious and as specially great for younger, newer fans.

 

Looks like Robot Chicken for kids which I don't have a problem with.

IMO, it's just helping to kill Star Wars. Like The Clone Wars, it looks like it can't decide whether it wants to target young kids or adults. I can't see it lasting long if it even starts.

I'd really rather see well-written quality show. I really like Seth Green, but this looks like garbage.

 

Where's clips 4 to 6?

 

I can't wait to see the first episode. The show is kinda pointless but it should be amusing. I do want an actual live action show sometime soon though

 

Even back at the panel I got the impression this show might be a bit too tame in its humor.
But I guess this show is meant to watchable for anyone, so I guess they couldn't go all Robot Chicken / Family Guy on it.
