Hey everyone, I saw this posted at the Westminster Mall website.

See an entire collection of 4 in. Star Wars toy characters and memorabilia displayed in 8 ft. glass cases. See characters, creatures, and ships displayed in the chronological order as they appeared in each movie. Toys displayed from 1977 - 1985. Full size characters on display: Yoda, Maul, Anakin, Han in carbonite, Jarjar Binks and so much more. Located at the Sears Court.

Has anyone else heard of this? Is the 501st trooping this? Is this something that we'd be interested in doing? If not, no big deal....

Ummm, I havent heard of it, but It sounds kind of fishy to me. You said there was going to be all the toys from 1977-1985 yet you also said there was a Maul and a Jar Jar..... There werent any Maul's or Jar Jar's between 77 and 85. But in short, I havent heard of it myself.

    See you on the Field.

We went to the mall tonight, and it was displayed all over on their calendar of events.

Yes, you're right that they have their years and genres mixed up, but they're still doing the event. More than likely some "normal" person write the write up, without knowing SW to the level that any of us would.

If anyone is interested in trooping a night like a Friday or Saturday, I could contact the mall and see if they would be interested in having us attend. I think it could be fun, but I'll only start making the calls if enough interest is there.

might be fun to swing by there since it's so close by, but I wouldn't be able to make an event out of it I don't think (esp. not if it's on a friday/saturday, lol).

I would guess the same thing, that it's probably that guys' collection.

I'd be up for doing an event there, anyone want to contact the mall folks?

Yes, it's the same guy. His collection is pretty sweet. I'd recommend checking it out.

Is anyone interested enough for me to organize an event out of this, or do you just want to check it out on your own?

Sarn, you read my mind. Not that it's exactly Encyclopedia Galactica or anything....

Do you know when the 501st will be trooping the Mall?

That might be fun. But what of us poor rebels without Imperial costumes?

I did this troop with the 501st Mountain Garrison last year and we had a great time. The Maul/JarJar/Yoda are the full-sized Pepsi ones (I have a Maul and Yoday, skipped JarJar). The collection is very impressive and FREE to see.

We had fun last year, but Mall security would prefer that you stay in that area if costumed (weapons out of the area was a big no-no).

You will have fun if you go and there are a lot of photo ops.

I saw it . every year the guy sets it up. its kind of a ploy to get kids into the churches youth group. it's not a bad set up. but nothing to brag about. thers a two sided wall with carded figures on it. everything from 77-05 . some hack jobs of trying to make figures look like they were misspacked on the cardas well as a few good customs. i.e NJO. the dioramas are ok. very little time was put in to them. half the items are still half packaged. not much time spent on the atual set up of the dioramas. but this is just my opinion.

That sounds like a review I'd give, and then get flamed for. LOL.

Well, maybe not necessarily flamed as the definition goes...

But I can think of a few people that would be irritated with me not candy coating it, or for having too high of standards. ;)
