Star Wars DVD much less than msrp! Everywhere!

I know in the promo material it said the msrp is $100, but I checked at Wal-Mart and the MSRP is 69.99 and they have it marked down to 41.88! Wow, much less than I was willing to pay. Yipee! I checked other sites and this tends to be true there as well.

 

I think this is always the case no matter what movie.

Let's take a little trip to Amazon...

The MSRP figures in a profit for the retailer.

However, many retailers today make the profit in volume rather than mark-up on these types of things.
That's the reason you'll see the "mom & pop" stores selling at MSRP, and the chain stores below it.

 

Too bad that's USD. I'll probably pay about $60-70

 

If wal*mart is selling it for $41.88, that is probably before they go comp shopping, that is when they look thru other stores fliers, IE Target, Kmart, Best Buy, etc, and find items that are more expensive at walmart, and lower it to 2 cents below the price of the stores above.

So most likely, Wal*Mart will be selling the game at about $39.95.

Even if walmart sticks to $41.88, I will save about $4.08, due to my discount card.

 

I have a discount card too. Im a cashier, and to prove it to you:

The discount card has a picture of a semi truck with the walmart logo on the side. Pic probly taken in the northwest somewhere because of all the pine trees and blue sky. So there, now you believe me.

 

Kamikrazy, you forgot to add that there is a mountain range in the back, with snow at the peaks.

If you don't mind me asking, what State do you work in?

 

No one ever pays MSRP unless you buy it direct from the manufacturer.

It's said to be about £45 RRP here, so I'd expect that to drop around £10-15 on certain online sources.

 

I think TRU has it for around $50.

 

I will get it at costco because my parents are executive members!

 

If I choose to get it and not wait until after RotS, I'll get it at GameStop used for around 20-30 dollars plus the 10% off all used items card I have.

 

I'm going to sound really dumb, but what is MSRP?
