Isn't it essentially an edited-down version of the 2-hour documentary on the DVD? I think I'll just wait a few more days and watch the full thing.

Yes, it is an edited down "made-for-TV" version of the documentary. Schph wasn't there, so she missed Steve Sansweet's memo on this thing at the panel.

It was really interesting. I really enjoyed seeing and hearing the experiences people had on the set.

    Cool stuff!

Can we please keep the general malicious taunting and bickering in 3SA or YJCC, where such behaviour is generally tolerated?

    Thanks. [face_plain]

    Anyway...

Well, I definitely watched it and it just made me more excited about Star Wars. It was really fascinating to hear George and Carrie and everyone talking about the very beginnings of the movie, and casting, and how it almost didn't get finished and whatnot. So, props to A&E for showing it.

It was good, and I am glad I got to see it, as I don't intend on buying the DVD set. It really got me excited about Star Wars, but to me it also underlined the fact that the last SW movie came out in 1983...

i watched some of the doc on A&E though I wanted to save most of it for when my DVDs arrive. (they've been shipped...5 to 10 biz days...they claim sept 23 to 25, but I'm hoping for next monday!)

i was really glad to see they talked extensively to gary kurtz and john dykstra, two of the founding fathers of the SW universe...i thought Lucas wasn't on good terms with them but either that's changed, or he interviewed them anyway. either way, nice.

    it pwned me.

    well...Matt...

I wouldn't hold my breath on delivery of the DVD set...

the last time I pre-ordered....(which was Phantom Menace)
I ended up getting it about a week AFTER it was in the stores...
and I ended up paying WAAAAAY too much...

if I have to wait a few extra days, no biggie. hopefully i got a pretty good price though...i think it was deepdiscountdvd.com...$41.99, free shipping. That seemed about what I was willing to pay for it.

I do wish I could go into best buy and buy it day-of, though...or attend one of the night-before parties with y'all!
