    Episode VII

The Empire has been defeated & a New Republic has been formed. However the scars of the Empire & the decades of war remain. There has been a backlash against the notion of the Force from within the political sphere & the wider population. The rise of Palpatine, Vader & even going back to the Clone Wars & Dooku are all portrayed as a result of the infighting & corruptibility of Force users, namely the Jedi & the Sith. The claim is they are too powerful & even Jedi were shown to be seduced by this power. After Palpatine the New Republic leaders are paranoid about a powerful Force user ever holding a position of influence again. Despite the objections of a minority including Leia, it is decided not to reinstate the Jedi Order as protectors. Due to these fears it is hoped by many that the Force will fade out of all knowledge & existence.

Despite these developments, Luke was determined to carry out Yoda's charge of passing on his knowledge of the Force. However he could not do so within the Republic. Though greatly saddened by this "new world" he decides to respect the law & leaves the boundaries of the Republic. He establishes a base at a far off remote location. He takes on an apprentice, maybe a few.

Cutting to the chase, when a former Imperial officer shows up with the Imperial fleet (& a Sith or some nasty old Jedi) the New Republic is quickly overwhelmed. They soon realise that aided by the Dark Side this isn't an enemy they can hope to defeat via conventional means. Eventually the Republic appeals to Luke & co to save the day. An emissary is sent to him asking for help, maybe Han & Chewie.
Of course some of the "next generation" will be also be key players in the fight. One of Luke's apprentices is seduced by the Dark Side. Also to up the personal motivation for Luke I'd have the bad guys either capture or kill Leia. That ought to fire him up. Another thought, perhaps the bad guys publicly discredit Luke by revealing he is the son of Vader.

Would be interesting if a former Imperial officer was in prison and became possessed by the dark spirit. Members of the New Republic hear threats through the voice of that officer and they soon realize that there is an attempt somewhere some how to revive the Sith spirits. A move is made at a time when the Force and Jedi are pretty much ostracized (mostly by a high level dignitary who himself was once a Padawan who secretly escaped the purge-only wants to protect Jedi from a prophecy that very few know about) to "get to the Force sensative younglings before the Sith spirits do".

It has been 30 years since the fall of Emperor Palpatine and Darh Vader. Luke has been a mentor to many a Jedi and the Republic has been restored. A team of Jedi has been dispatched to investigate a mountain/forest with rumored Sith/Imperial/CIS activity.

Kids of 17-18 are being cast. I wouldn't be surprised if the movies are set 50+ years from ROTJ and the kids are grandkids.

I am thinking we will start with a short set up where the original 3 are shown 30 years after ROTJ. The will have some kids. At some function (probably a 30 year celebration of Victory over the Emperor day) Leia and/or Han will be blown up and Luke will be severely injured or killed. Their children get taken to Corellia. At some point there will be a separation in which Leia and Han's kids (or grandkids) do not know who their parents were. (Maybe Han takes them into hiding and doesn't tell them who they are when they get older? Maybe he leaves them somewhere and watches over them from the shadows?) I'd like a scene of an old Han seeing the assassins coming and warning his kids to run (in the Falcon of course) and staying behind and dying like a champ. The kids have to discover who they are....maybe Luke was killed and his kids were taken along with Han and Leia's kids. After they flee in the Falcon they find a bag with Luke's lightsaber in it. (This from Saorise Ronan's casting call) One or more will be a force user and have to relearn the ways of the force. (Or find an old broken and almost dead Luke to teach them a few basics before he shuffles off to ghostly imageville.

Events in the galaxy unfold for the next 20-30 years after the assassination and we see who the new bad guys are. Maybe Boba Fett got out of the pit? Maybe the Hutts do a Godfather assassination scene on all the new republic leaders? Whatever happens I am thinking there will be no central government. The whole galaxy will be in chaos. Maybe the force is outlawed in an effort by the "normals" to prevent any more emperors. Maybe a group hating all force users is behind the assassinations.

This will set up a lot of independent movies. The children in the main movies have to rediscover their heritage and avenge their parents and restore order to the galaxy. Meanwhile there's a chaotic galaxy out there full of bounty hunters and warlords etc. A new Jedi order has to arise like marshal's or Texas Rangers on the Old west frontier. Perfect setup to do all the old west stories but replace the lawmen with jedi and the villains with ahhh.... space villains. It will be Firefly born anew and on a much larger scale.

My main bet out of all this is an assassination of some or all of the main 3. One may survive to clue the kids in as to their past. Of course Lando could make an appearance for that. Maybe If Han was watching over his kids from the shadows he sees the assassins coming and calls in Lando who comes to grab them in the Falcon. Han would of course have given it back to him after he flew it against the Death Star. Han won't make it past this point. He has to die here if he survived the assassination attempt.

I just don't know who the bad guys are. It has to be some organization that can take out the fledgling government....I am thinking maybe a salvaged Death Star gun or some new super weapon discovered by this yet to be named group. Something to take out the entire New Republic government....Han, Luke and Leia find out about it at the 30th anniversary. Leia goes to warn the current government. Han goes after the kids to get them into the falcon...Luke goes after the baddies. The doomsday weapon goes off, destroying the planet. Han gets away with the kids. Luke's fate? Depends on if we want a full jedi running around the new movies. Maybe if he is hurt so bad he has to use a Captain Pike wheelchair.

My main plot idea has been in the "who's the baddie" thread, so I guess I'll toss it out here just to get it out in the open. That said, I'm wondering if someone else has already suggested this very thing as I have not read through this particular thread.

The idea is this. Leia and Han have either 1 or more children. Unlike Luke, Leia never got to have personal closure with dear old dad, and although she has had 30 years to forgive (which she has), the only way she can truly move on is if she protects her children in the only way she knows how; to not ever, under any means, let them become trained as Jedi or allow them to be utilizing their powers in any way. That way, they're protected, at least in her eyes.

Of course, like any kid who wants to do something but is told "no" (much less one that has immense untapped power), this is an easily manipulated aspect of their life, and whomever the new baddie (he or she) is takes advantage of this, and shows them just how powerful the force is....for less than benevolent reasons, of course.

To make it hurt worse, I would suspect that this person is also someone who has wormed their way, so to speak, into Luke, Leia, and Han's lives...earning their trust...so that they can spend a large amount of time with the children with no suspicion of being a menace. Pretty insidious.

In short, it's precicely how Palpatine took advantage of Anakin; The promise of power while explaining that those around you do not trust you enough to let you use it.

It's been 30+ years since the fall of the Empire, and the former Rebels are now politicians. However, transitioning between being a rag tag band of guerilla fighters to a galactic government has been challenging. Leia is President of the Senate and Han is a high-ranking military commander. Luke has restored the Jedi Order and is trying to employ the teachings of the old order while avoiding making the same mistakes that led to their fall. Luke has a child, as do Han and Leia. Both are Jedi. Meanwhile, there are Imperial remnants who have refused to surrender, but they're too weak and fractured to pose much of a threat. Suddenly, a brilliant Imperial officer (Thrawn?), who's been campaigning in deep space for decades, returns and unites the scattered Imperials into a formidable fighting force, using his brilliance, charisma, and sheer ruthlessness. He then launches his campaign to reconquer the Galaxy, decimating any Republic force that's sent against him. The old heroes and the new generation must unite to stop this dangerous new foe before he launches his final assault against the very heart of the New Republic.

Seeing as post-ROTJ EU is likely to go, I'd do a plot which honours the best parts of that EU and also create a new story by which everyone can enjoy. The setting is roughly 30+ ABY where we find the former Rebel Alliance as the New Republic and the New Jedi Order living happily. In a distant corner of the Galaxy(on Bastion?), we find the Imperial Remnant living in absolute disarray. We see that the Empire now is a former shadow of itself. Spearheading this is Grand Admiral Thrawn, cursing from the upteenth time they were defeated again by "The Rebel Scum". Suddenly a small ship lands on Bastion, we see coming out of that ship something the Galaxy never thought they would see again: Sith Lords, perhaps secretly trained by both Palpatine and/or Vader to take over the Empire in the event of their deaths?

It'd be cool to see a scene like this happen:

Except instead of the Twi'lek we have:

I know it's unlikely that we would ever really see Darth Krayt or Lumiya in Episode VII, but maybe new villains that are obvious homages to them?

So these new Sith come to Bastion to retake what's left of the remnant and joining them would be a new army of warriors found very far into the outer edges of the Galaxy called:

Little do they know, these warriors calling themselves "The Vong" have their own agenda, which would be expanded in VIII and IX.

So basically, the rejuvenated Empire/Vong Fleet begin their conquest of the galaxy, first beginning with Naboo. To show that they mean business and that the new Sith hate the stench of Palpatine's failure, orders the destruction of Naboo with a new Vong Superweapon(Please note this weapon would be designed differently and for all intensive purposes is not another Death Star, whatever it is, I'll leave that to TPTB) and it wipes out ALL life on Naboo, and they emphasize ALL life on Naboo. The Republic hears of this attack and try to search to search for the Senator or any political representative, then somebody says these immortal words: "Everyone was on Naboo even Senator Binks".

The Republic then all scrambles for battle.

As much as I like to keep going with this fanfic, I'm pretty tired, but you get the gist of what would probably happen. Just note that in my vision, Mara Jade and the Skywalker/Solo characters all exist etc etc.

I think Timothy Zahn already covered that. Therefore it's not really a plot idea but rather an adaptation of a novel.

Aw hell, I'll just go with the whole ST:

Episode VII: Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, Lando, and Wedge are sitting in the retirement home eating prunes, drinking tea, and playing canasta "Shuffleboard is for the Imperial guys, we don't talk to them" Han says. A messenger droid shows up and informs Luke that R2 and 3PO are at their mandatory scrapping age and New Republic law says they are to be scrapped immediately. No exceptions, not even for heroes who saved the damned galaxy from unrelenting evil and oppression. Luke stands up to object but clutches his chest as Lando reminds him that his heart can't take too much. Leia insists the scrapping law is a bunch of baloney and she'll fight it as soon as she finishes her Metamucil. Chewie, who had his Centrum Silver that morning, stands up and walks off while muttering something to himself. The attendant droid thinks it may be his dementia but states that our favorite Wook could just be drunk. Wedge's only line is "I had jello today..."

Episode VIII: Chewbacca is seen slowly puttering along in some walkway on Coruscant. He saunters on into an official looking building, waits in line (this takes at least half of the film and the lobby aliens provide Hasbro with no less than 30 different aliens who will be shown on screen for all of 2 seconds and will have at least 5 different versions of action figures made of each, as per their contract). Meanwhile, Luke, Han, Leia, Wedge and Lando are still sitting in the retirement home yammering on about those damn kids today and their loud music. Lando goes on about how the music played by Max Rebo wasn't all that bad and it's a crying shame that kids these days can't appreciate the good stuff. Leia then says that she can never listen to Max Rebo's music after all that Jabba made her do. Lando says it wasn't that bad which then angers Leia even more and accuses Lando of being sexist. Meanwhile, a government worker cannot understand Chewie and their protocol driod is in for repairs so he'll just need to wait. The droids are captured and hauled off by a government agent to a sleazy Cash 4 Gold joint in the hopes that 3PO is worth something. Artoo realizes something's up and sends a message to Luke who gets it and tries to leave. As he stands up, he clutches his chest and sinks back into his wheelchair. Han, Lando and Leia all look on in shock while Wedge mumbles something about Janson who has been dead now for six years.

Episode IX: Luke, still clutching his chest pauses for a moment before passing some very LOUD gas. A look of relief passes over his face as he vows never to eat the beans and asparagus again. Luke then wheels his chair on over to the bus stop and follows Artoo's signal to the Cash 4 Gold shop. Along the way, Luke gets swept up in an Ugnaught revolt and is briefly held captive until he uses the Force to give the Ugnaughts his gas. The film then cuts back to Chewbacca who is STILL trapped in the government office trying to get the droids back. Another protocol droid is brought in and translates for him only to then discover that the droids who were meant to be scrapped were C-3DO and R2-E2. It turns out that the man who made the error is our old friend General Veers who lost his military pension after the collapse of the Empire and must now spend his golden years working as a government stooge. He talks to Chewie and admits that his hearing isn't what it used to be and also apologizes for destroying Echo Base. "I was only following orders, I was acquitted, what more do you want from me!?" he shouts. Chewbacca then mutters something about the droids and the interperter droid mentions this to Veers who then says that he did have his suspicion about an underling of his who was desperate for credits. The droids are about to be scrapped when Veers remembers that he fitted Artoo with a Clapper which will then automatically fire Artoo's rockets and drag Threepio along with him back to the office. Veers claps his hands and offers Chewie some mints while they wait. The door is then cut open by a lightsaber to reveal Luke who is mighty pissed about missing Jeopardy! for this. Just then, Artoo and Threepio come crashing in through the windows and Veers claps his hands again to shut off Artoo's rockets. Veers then apologizes to Luke for destroying Echo Base and killing Dack, says he was just following orders. Luke, Chewbacca, and the droids then take a taxi back to the retirement home where Leia is still chewing out Lando for being sexist while Han rambles on about his smuggling stories to a clearly uninterested nurse who is checking his blood pressure. The droids greet everyone with Tang and Metamucil except for Lando who needs an Alka Seltzer. Wedge says nothing and is just sitting there with a small puddle of drool forming on the tray clipped to his wheelchair.

Episode VII: We find out in the opening crawl that the destruction of the second death star and the deaths of the Emperor and Vader didnt have the devasting effect on the Empire we thought it had.Instead the moffs and regional governors came down even harder on the Rebels and anyone they suspected of decent and become more like Stalinist russia than the previous nazi like regime. With rebel numbers dropping our heros more desperate than ever are now living in the shadows of the galactic underworld.
