Good job, ousley! Some of the things I liked:
*the way Obi-Wan notices somethings different about Anakin
*the turmoil Padme experiences, the way she looks for her options
*Yoda's awareness of the fear and anxiety emanating from the younger jedi
*Palpatines' unexpected arrival

Great last line from Yoda, too. Can't wait to read more!

 

Update #5: 3-19-03

For the second time in his life, Obi-Wan Kenobi was imprisoned in an electric energy field in a military bunker on Geonosis. This was the first time, though, that his Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, had experienced such imprisonment. Obi-Wan wondered for what seemed like the thousandth time in just the few hours since he had regained conciousness when his Padawan would do the same.

The last thing he remember was entering the palace, being escorted by droids to a prison cell of some sort, and then waking up. He had no idea how long he had been like this. He didn't know if it had been as short as a few hours, or as long as a few days, or even a week.

What he did know, however, was that he had somehow managed to press the panic swith hidden on his comlink that would alert the Jedi to any serious problem. He knew that however long it had been, it wouldn't be long until a couple Jedi would arrive and begin to investigate.

He saw the deactivation switch across the room, and began to try to use the Force to access it. Nothing. He then noticed there were small creatures on tree limbs around the room. Don't tell me... yes, I think they are... ysalamiri. A Jedi's worst nightmare. He knew from studying the ancient Jedi lore-- something not many Jedi had done-- that there were old rumors about a species that had long ago became extinct called ysalamiri. These ysalamiri somehow took away a Jedi's power of the Force. Since they were rumored to be extinct-- and just rumors at that-- there had been no scientific study of them, and even so, there wouldn't be a way to know how they blocked the Force.

But obviously they are real. And obviously, they're not extinct.

He glanced over again at Anakin, and saw him start to move a little bit. He didn't know if he should risk speaking or not.

"Master?" His Padawan spoke, giving him no choice.

"Shh. We're still on Geonosis," he replied. He figured the room was probably had microphones and surveilance equipment covering the room. Anakin must have gotten the hint, though, or maybe he was just to tired to reply. The drugs used to knock them out had obviously been very strong.

Let's hope this isn't the way we get knocked out for good... he thought. He knew, somehow, that they're release would be secured. He just wasn't sure if it would be the Jedi, or if it would be the Confederation. Perhaps Dooku will feed us false information. He knew very well that it was a possibility.

The door slid open, revealing a Geonosian with a protocol droid by his side, most likely for translation. It wasn't until that moment that Obi-Wan realized he no longer had his lightsaber. A quick glance at Anakin revealed that his Padawan didn't have his, either.

He hoped he didn't end up needing it, either.

The Goenosian started to speak, and when he was done, the protocol droid translated. "He says if you provide him with a reasonable excuse for being here, he might let you go."

Obi-Wan pondered. He couldn't use the Force, but he still had his persausiveness. "We were here under the Jedi Council's orders, because we find the Republic to be immoral, and were seeing how your corporation operate. We were considering withdrawing from the Republic and joining you."

Of course, this was only half-true. Unless something big happened while we've been here...

The protocol droid translated the Geonosian's next response. "He says that him and his fellow leaders would be honored to have Jedi on their side. However, they do not think now is the perfect time."

"I completely understand."

"Good. Then be on you're way, and when we feel we really need you, we'll be sure to contact you," the droid translated again.

Astounded by their good fortune, Obi-Wan prepared to be released. "Anakin, wake up!" His Padawan started to move around.

"I'm... awake... Master..." he replied wearily.

"Good. They've agreed to release us. Get ready for the drop." Just as he said it, the containment fie

 

At least one update is planned for tonight. Possilby two.
