that's true, one young black man and one young white woman can join one old white woman with a buncha white guys and Andy Serkis.

 

Daisey Ridley is very cute. Love her already.

If she turns out to be Han and Leia's daughter then she no doubt will act with an American accent.

 

Nice to see Kenny Baker will be back.

Forty something male, fit, military type. <-Oscar Isaac
Thirtysomething male, intellectual. Apparently doesn’t need to be fit. <-Adam Driver

 

I wonder if the heads at the bottom of the pic are assistants or lesser cast members....I mean even Kitster was at the ep1 table read...

 

That almost didn't click with me at first. But when it did I was so excited.

 

I wonder how many media outlets in the next week or so will call John Boyega "African-American", despite the fact that he's British.

 

Think my heart skip a few beats when I saw the Official Thread announcement. Hah, it's really happening

 

No Billy Dee D: I was looking forward to Lando, dagnabbit! Other than that, the cast looks fantastic!

Apart from the returning actors the only new actor who I know is Andy Serkis but just his name alone has got me excited.

 

So Saoirse Ronan auditioned for the late-teen female role, and didn't win.

 

Yeah, I don't see an agenda here whatsoever.

Anyway, glad to see the cast finally put out. Would have liked to have seen Lando, but perhaps he'll have a cameo along with Wedge. But overall, great day. Now let all the character musings begin.

 

Yeah, this certainly isn't what we were being fed in the rumor mill. Villainous female lead... two female leads and one male... multiple actors of color.

OK, let's see...
John Boyega. Unknown to me, British, seems all right.
Daisy Ridley. No bio, another unknown. Judging by IMDb photo, I hope she's one of the leading trio.
Adam Driver. Very distinctive face. If performed right, his role could be very remarkable.
Oscar Isaac. He's the tricky one, I don't know what to think.
Andy Serkis. Great actor, amazing facial performance, LOTR and SW, say no more.
Domhnall Gleeson. Unknown to me.
Max von Sydow. Definitely the strongest name, an institution among actors, I'm glad he's in the movie.

Then there's the OT cast, there's no surprises, but I'll pay them massive respect for rehiring Kenny Baker. In this day and age, with robotic R2, to call him back, that's amazing.

Finally some news.
Finally some new and fresh faces to SW universe.
This is where the fun begins.

 

On the couch next to Mayhew I think that is Bryan Burk the Bad Robot producer and KK with Gleeson on the other side.

 

yeah I don't think you can definitively say Lando won't be in the film.

I wonder if Boyega's character will be a Calrissian. Star Wars is all about family, after all.
