Now, let's plan for the next session. This Saturday is the 3rd Anniversary Party, so what about Friday night?

That don't sound bad. Any objections to Friday at, say, 9pm (for Roman and Digi's sake!)

Btw just some notes for the rest of the bunch....

Gerry remember to fuel the jet pack if your going to use it. Your nature is up in the air, use your pilot skills as much as you can.

Ricardo a DATA PAD, and a recorder. The rest you master.

Luis see if you can get a truth serum or something and remember to use the friendship force feat when you interrogate someone.

Roman your job is simple keep healing everyone that is losing vitality, even if its just a couple of points, keep the team fresh. Also get a staff like weapon so you can grab it with your mouth and bash people. Imagine a gigantic train.

Jan you know what to do and when to do it.

Digital I have no Idea what your main skills are, and thats my fault ofcourse, so don't get killed or run away. Remember the force is a great help, look to your surroundings for alternate ways of solving things or getting weapons. No one is ever unarmed...

Rafa, your doing good with the illusions, keep dishing them out, even to conceal your positions so that the enemy has penalties hitting you or your allies.

Oh yeah and one more thing: LOOT EVERYTHING YOU CAN!!!!!!

Kudos a los Gamemasters por inventarse un sistema de combate nuevo. Aunque no puedo decir que tenía el RPG feeling que buscaba.

Creo que funciona mucho mejor para space battles, ya que las instrucciones del space battle en el libro son tan complicadas.

No puedo decir que la gente estaba muy into it en el ground battle. Básicamente la corrimos Jan, Román y yo. Rafa y Luis entraban y salían, y Digital casi ni lo vi.

Creo que esto se debe a que no se usaron los personajes. Esto es más perdonable dentro de una nave pero en el campo de batalla queremos usar nuestras habilidades.

Mi sugerencia es, mantener ese sistema para combate espacial y olvidarnos de eso en el piso.

El sistema funciona, es útil y bastante sencillo. Pero se pierden las habilidades especiales de los personajes y ése RPG feel.

La sesión estuvo divertida, pero no puedo decir que todos estaban in tune, y no satisfizo mi sed de RPG; no del todo.

Thanks for the feedback Ricardo. Estabamos buscando hacer algo diferente y con un alcanze mucho mas grande que lo que se habia hecho con el RPG anteriormente. Esto fue un trial run y no estaria mal que nos dieran feedback y sus opiniones.

Estoy de acuerdo con lo que dice Ricardo; el sistema corrió super bien para representar batallas grandes en el espacio. Tambien:

-No se debe usar más de una vez por game session.
-Es mejor si los jugadores conocen las reglas básicas de antemano.
-Ground battles tienen más variedad de unidades que space battles, y es difícil para cada jugador mantener cuenta de que exactamente hace cada una de ellas.
-No esperabamos que estuviesen todos los player characters a la vez en el ground battle.
-Tampoco esperabamos que las decisiones tácticas tomaran tanto tiempo.
-Considerando la cantidad de miniaturas que habian en la mesa, no resultaba mucho más rápido usar ese sistema.

En fin, estoy seguro que usaremos el sistema al menos una vez más, pero los ground battles de seguro se van a manejar de una forma diferente.

(Esto fue creado from scratch desde el miercoles por la noche hasta viernes por la tarde. I pity the fool who don't appreciate it.)

La batalla de piso hubiese funcionado mejor si en algun punto hubiese habido una separacion de lo que son los ejercitos como tal y los jugadores. Es bueno que los jugadores sean parte del "big picture" de la batalla, pero la ejecucion seria mas agradable si se mantiene un "scope" mas pequeno para los jugadores. Es decir, se puede tener la guerra en escala masiva, pero a su vez que los personajes tengan algun tipo de mision especial que ayuda a "turn the tide of the battle", o algo por el estilo, en donde los jugadores puedan utilizar las habilidades de sus personajes a capacidad.

Un buen ejemplo de esto es en Return of the Jedi. Como todos saben, ocurre la guerra en Endor (en su cuarta luna), y es una batalla bastante grande en donde los Rebeldes, asistidos por los Ewoks, se enfrentan a un ejercito Imperial. En la pelicula vemos algunos clips de la batalla como tal, pero el enfoque principal es en los heroes infiltrando el "shield generator", destruyendolo, y asi asegurando una victoria rebelde. Claro, en algunas escenas vemos a algunos personajes peleando en la batalla, y a Chewie montandose en un AT-ST, pero ese no es el enfoque principal de la escena.

That being said, I enjoyed both battle systems. Kudos to Pete and Juan for the short-term improvisation. And for the next time, add more enemies to the battlefield. We totally whooped their asses.
