Ah yes, the Life Star. It creates planets. A bunch a' hippie nonsense.
No. They cannot.
Someone once mentioned "The Price of Victory" which is not the best title for a SW flick, but I like the basic idea. Something like "The Toll of Victory" or "Shadows of Triumph" or some such to indicate "yes, we've defeated the Empire and that's all well and good, but NOW look what happened because of it." Such a title would be very "continuationy"
That's called the Genesis Device. And Star Trek got there first.
