Hm...let's see. There are a few "rules" by which the SW movies are titled.
The first episode of the trilogy has to have a 3-word title.
The second episode of the trilogy has to have something related to action ("Attack of the Clones", "The Empire Strikes Back"). And the title must be 4-words long.
The last episode of the trilogy must have the following format: "X of the <insert Force related word" ("Return of the Jedi", "Revenge of the Sith"). 4 words long, the first letter of the first word is "R".

So here is my speculation:

Episode VII - A Destiny Revealed
Episode VIII - The Republic Under Siege
Episode IX - Redemption of the Force

 

Those rules are based on 2 samples...reach.

I remember starting a thread similar to this 10 years ago at the SW.com forums, username S@lo (that one, however, was for speculating on the Episode 3 title, which, not too surprisingly, many people were able to guess correctly). Brings back some really good memories, and it was fun hearing (and critiquing) other people's guesses.

Given that we have very little information on what storyline the sequel trilogy might follow (we can only speculate at this point), the title's a little difficult to predict. However, I'll take a wild stab at it and say the title will be "Star Wars: Episode VII - An Order Rebuilds". The assumption here is that the new trilogy will focus on what we've come to know as the New Jedi Order (it may go by some other name, depending on how closely they want to follow EU material). I'm also getting a bit tired of titles with "of the" in them - half of the first six episodes have this in the title; this one is sort of a mish-mash of the Episode I, IV, and V titles. Problem is... it's not terribly catchy....

Dunno if i believe it or like it. Sounds in keeping with previous titles, but a little underwhelming...

 

Sounds like Twilight.

 

Blander than bland. Something like that is probably what we should expect, though, if this film is going to "play it safe" in an Abrams Trek manner.

You call that playing it safe? Rebooting the universe and erasing everything that ever happened?

 

Agree ' a new dawn' sounds bland/twilight.
Assuming that key words from previous titles will not be re-used, ie no clones, sith, empire, jedi, strikes, attack, return, revenge etc, it would be a fairly safe bet to assume key words such as 'the force', 'republic', 'rebellion' might be used. How about:
'The New Rebellion'
'Battle for the Republic'
'Balance of the force'

 

Indeed I do. Witness the performance of the last couple of Next Gen films compared to the return of Kirk and company (in younger, flashier form). And it didn't erase anything for the general public, who don't care about "canon" as it relates to fictional settings.
