    How long before someone complains in this thread that Disney is rushing the ST and just getting them out ASAP before audiences feel oversaturated with Star Wars movies?

    It's nice to have a release date and it's a welcomed surprise to see that they have moved it back to the summer. Less time between films and warm weather - I'll take it! :D

    I confess I was thinking about permanently leaving the boards if VIII was being released in Dec 2017,
    now I think I might actually stay and enjoy the ride with everybody else.:)

    So he's from the future and already knows the full credits for the upcoming movies? JJ himself said he was Executive Producing VIII and IX.

    The press release didn't mention Whitta either, but Weitz explicitly credited him in an interview the other day.

    This isn't a final credits list. Faraci's jumping to conclusions.

    Great news. But I wonder if summer release date had some to do with not wanting to compete with Avatar 2.

    FYI- Devin Faraci is pretty suspect, imo.

    While I'm glad they won't be competing, I think it has more to do with it being the 40th anniversary and Star Wars just belongs in May.
