Aren't you forgetting that Supermegafest is the weekend b4 Thanksgiving?
Megafest is the whole weekend plenty of time to go. lol Plus I am not sure if my brother would be interested in going. He isn't too keen with standing in long lines and paying for autographs. And for that matter neither am I. lol
I have the book, its great. Definitely worth picking up if you have a chance.
Checking in from Orlando System, here. I'm a collector from Florida who's curious if they end up having any exclusive collectibles at the museum to commemorate the event. I ordered the book from Buy.com (it's a couple of dollars cheaper than Amazon) yesterday and eagerly await it's arrival. I'll check back periodically in hopes that one of you posts any exclusive items to be found once the exhibit opens. Enjoy the show, you're envied... -Campbell
ps- On Wednesday the Official Site posted a preview of the companion book:
Cool article, that book sounds interesting.
Do we have to buy tickets beforehand to the exhibit?
No, you can buy them at the museum, but there's always the chancew that the times you want would sell out.
From what I saw on their website after the first week or so tickets seem to be available for all showings throughout the day. I think they go on 15 or 30 minute intervals of when you can enter.
Don't hold me to it, but I also heard that, unlike the recent "Lord of the Rings" exhibit, cameras will be allowed in the exhibit hall.
Words from someone in the know... YES CAMERAS ARE ALLOWED !!!!!!
I get to see it saturday am before meeting A.D. for the Gala...
Anthony Daniels is already in town for the premiere of this exhibit. He was on the Fox 25 news this morning talking about the exhibit. He was live out side their Beacon Hill studio (across from the state house).
Is there a list of what stuff is being auctioned at the gala anywhere?
oh cool so ull all be going as well cool im definetly goin there cause if i didnt i wouldnt live it down lol
you guys know if this will be on display through christmas holidays? i can see only by then...
This runs through April 2006. I am going on Sunday to the MOS member preview and then again the weekend before Thanksgiving, which is the same weekend as Super Megafest. I do plan on atttending that as well that weekend. lol
The exhibit runs in Boston through the end of April, so yes, you will have plenty of time to see it.
WBCN is having some sort of Monster Dash Halloween Fundraiser road race thing. They're giving away cash prizes for best costume as well as free passes to the MOS SW exhibits for the best SW costumes. You check out their site for more details.
I'm glad this exhibit is sticking around for a few months. Between all of the holidays, Pats games and crummy winter weather, I probably won't get into to see it until March or April.
hey wormie - whats that wbcn website? i guess i'll go google it. BOSTON is the place to be this halloween!!
WBCN is a radio station in Boston. I have listened to it a few different times and it seems pretty cool.
Just got back from my viewing. It was pretty cool. Lots of cool customes, props, displays, activities for the kids, cool lil presentation, etc. I think it was pretty well done. Could have been a tad bit bigger in size but that is alright. For the size of it you can easily get through it in an hrs time from unless you purchase the media guide that gives more info, which is what I plan on getting next time. The only thing I didn't like was the store. lol It had things you could buy on SW.com, local book store, etc. I did pick up the exhibit book which looks cool, but other than that nothing caught my eye.
I know I am going back the weekend before Thanksgiving probably on the Friday before because it is members only night.
The thing I noticed in the store, is right when you walk in, those pewter(?) figures in the display case, from the early 90s that they used to advertise in old Jawa Traders. I havent seen those things in ages. Really didnt fit in with all the other stuff in the store, none of which was older than a year old.
Chewy, did you see the Falcon in the atrium? How is it? All I've seen of it so far was the hallway when it was under construction, but it looked like it was gonna be amazing when it was done.
ok for the gala on saturday night .....my CLOSEST exdperience was " under arrest" at the XWING model,( the empire had taken over the musuem) and while at the XWING model .. I looked down the hall to the left, and saw " THE MAKER" coming down to the lobby...
I looked right at him, and I could have imagined it.. but as I looked right at him, I swear I saw a slight nod to us rebels "under arrest".... That was about 5 steps away from him, and I was in heaven for the night.... I was nodded at by GL--- it was Friging sweet heaven sensation hehehe !!
Sunday I got to do ESCORT DUTY for DON BIES ... R2 controller... and gopt pic taken with him and R2 .. I TOUCHED R2 !!!!!! wheeeeeeeeee
THE FALCON section was not on tonight... when it opens for the falcon ride.. the 5th I think...... When you do the ride , for 5.00 ... you get a pin afterwards....
So if you can make it to exibit by say...... APRIL .... have a blast...
Sounds like a great exhibit! I've seen a few pictures online, Boston.com has a small slideshow of pics from the setup before opening night. Can't wait to see the Falcon and check out it's ride. Unfortunately I probably won't be able to go until after the new year either. With the holidays coming up and some traveling that I'll most likely be doing for work my first chance to go won't be until late January .
That's funny Justin, When GL "Nodded" at us, I thought he was smirking at our distress of being detained by the Empire...
Thanks for having us down to help you promote the event! It was great seeing all of you guys, and Thanks to Brian for his hospitality!
