I just saw these pictures/ads posted in this TF.N story about the exhibit/book: link No real new info, but are these ads new? Possibly a bit more confirmation that the picnic dress might be there. [face_thinking]

edit: Those ads can't be 'new'. They still have the old opening date on them. Anyway, they're still cool. :p

***I used the add image option, but the images don't show up, just the textcode, if
a moderator could fix the problem, I'd be most grateful. THANKS***

    Greetings.
My wife helped set up the show, and thanfully I got to attend the Grande Opening last night. A great evening, with plenty of costumed people mingling in the crowd to add atmosphere.
The show took a great deal of time to set up. If you get to see it, you'll understand why. Lotsa costumes.

My wife and Mr Lucas chat it up.

All in all a great show, and these are just a sample of a very large show. Tonight 25 of the costumes get taken down, and flown to New York for a fashion runway show at the Zigfield theater for fashion week. Apparently this was idea was floated, and George Lucas loved the idea. Thats why the dates changed for the open to the public show.

    EDIT---ADDITINAL INFO----
The Friends and Family show is tonight.

The Picnic Dress is in the show, with the broach.

My wife will be helping with the dressing of the models backstage at the
Nyc fashion show, so she will do her best to make sure the models treat the
costumes with respect. Once they are out on the runway, only George Lucas'
    wrath will keep them inline.

I'll post additional photos of the set up, and some other cool stuff when I
get the images problem sorted out/explained to me.

    Thanks!

No problem! I have tons of photos. Are they showing up? Or are the just code that you're having to paste into a url bar? When I look at my post, they just show up as code.

Oh, I've instructed my wife to get some good shots of the dress.
    And the broach.

Hey thanks. Is there anyway to get them to show up as images in the message field?
And do I have a picture of you in the X-wing fighter?

i tried to post them as pictures...but the image code from mozilla is not giving me a valid jpg or bmp file. Just the link..thus the reason for the links.

I know it's a long shot, but is there any way for us average New Yorkers to get tickets to the fashion show?

The NYC fashion show will only be 25 of the costumes. Unfortunately I can't convince them
to send Darth Vader. I am the same height as David Prowse, and have volunteered my services.

Oh well. If you do get to the show, take photos. My wife will probably be able to take shots from backstage only.

I'm not sure how may costumes there will be in total, as Lucas's people might be sending
costumes from their archives also. But I'm not sure on that point.

If there is a mistake, Lucas didn't catch it on his walk through.
What was the mistake? If I can I'll see if they can correct it before the
public opening. But remember the mannequins are now wired up, so
changes are probably not possible at this point. Ms Biggar and Ivo from
Lucas supervised the installation. So if the costume designer, and the guy who
did all the head dresses didn't catch it...

Costume fans, are you jealous??? These lucky ladies got all touchy feely
with the costumes, and know their most private secrets...

Sorry this ones a bit blurry, but I figured that since I teased you about the girls getting all touchy feely with the costumes, you might squeal a little knowing that there are fabric swatches that you can touch to your hearts delight. And maybe colour match.

Also the $350.00 version of the book is amazing. Too many
cool extras to go on about.

Thank you so much for posting advanced photos! I'm glad to hear the picnic dress will be there! It's almost tempting to bring binoculars eh?

Can't wait to see this next Monday! I'll take as many photos as I can and hopefully my new camera will do well in the low light setting ;)
