Two Jedi knights were about to enter the Jedi council chamber.

Their names are Ra Zaan and Elo Plu. Ra Zaan is one of the few to achieve the rank of Jedi Knight. He is extremely talented in the ways of the Force. He is rational, brave and dedicated to the Jedi Order and the Code. Elo Plu is a master swordsman. His abilities with the lightsaber far surpass those of other Jedi his age. While he is talented with the sword, he tends to rush into situations headlong before contemplating the circumstances. In the council chamber the young Jedi are met by a small Jedi commission. These Jedi masters have come together to discuss a distress signal sent to them from the L'jore system. The Magistrate of the system, Loradon, has sent a message asking for the Jedi's assistance in settling a dispute on one of the moons located in his system. It seems that groups of Aqualish has claimed the moon and are now mining its resources heavily. The moon is a religious center for many of the planets in the L'jiore system. "If this practice continues," the magistrate states, "The integrity of the moon will be compromised and the stability of the entire system will be in jeopardy." Both Ra Zaan and Elo Plu realize the importance of the L'jiore system to the Republic. It provides valuable and essential resources to many of the core systems. The moon of Vacarri, however, is not familiar to them and they wonder as to its relevance. Master Ceel Nas explains that little is recorded of the moon in the Jedi archives. Its whole existence seems to be shrouded in mystery. Only the most ancient of Jedi records mention the moon and then only in passing. There has not been a Jedi presence there in generations. Master Ceel informs the two young Jedi that they are going to be sent to Vacarri to meet with the Aqualish and discover their intentions. ?Communications with the moon have been none existent for many years. A Jedi team showing up at this point could be seen as a threat by other planets in the system. Master Ceel dismisses the two Jedi, telling them that he senses that a solution to the unrest on the moon will present itself in time?? Ra Zaan and Elo Plu travel to The L'jore system. They meet with Magistrate Loradon on an elegant space cruiser just inside the Vacarri Orbit. Loradon is a blue-skinned Chiss, a normally reclusive race from beyond the Outer Rim. "Thank you for coming so quickly, gentlemen," the Magistrate intones warmly. "Peace has prevailed in the system for so long that there has been no need for a large security force to protect any of the planets. This is why the Aqualish presence is so troubling. The Twi-Leks have long held rights on the moon's government. However, the Aqualish with their large army were able to wrest power quite easily from them. Most of the former leadership have been killed. You are our last hope to regain stability. If the Moon is over-mined, many of the surrounding systems will go to war to protect its integrity." Ra Zaan feels that the Magistrate is sincere but something is out of place. While he senses no evil intentions, he also is unable to sense anything at all, good or bad. This puzzles Ra Zaan as he prides himself on being able to interpret a being's true intentions almost instantly. Ra Zaan refocuses on the task at hand and tells the Magistrate they will do what they can to settle this dispute. The group ventures down to Vacarri's surface. As they enter the Aqualish stronghold they are met by JT-40, a protocol droid. The droid welcomes them in overly friendly tone and escorts them to the main audience chamber. There the group is introduced to Doba Pon, the Aqualish leader. When Pon sees the Jedi he becomes irate. He screams, seemingly at the Magistrate, that he did not want any Jedi here on the moon...that it was not part of the agreement. Elo Plu speaks up, "We are here only to negotiate." "You are here to threaten our rule," counters Pon. Without warning, Aqualish soldiers seize the Magistrate and take him towards Doba Pon.

The Jedi ignite their sabers and stand ready. Doba Pon screams to his sol
