As reported on Fusible, the parent company of LucasArts filed for several domain names and trademarks apparently pertaining to something called "First Assault." IGN speculated it might be an aerial combat game along the lines of "Rebel Assault," but also noted that it might be a reappearance of Battlefront 3.
If it isn't a Battlefront-esque game then I hope it'll be something along the likes of XWA or Rogue Squadron.
"First Assault" doesn't exactly sound like a fighter game. I'm thinking like a special ops thing along the lines of Republic Commando?
I think it will be a space sim game, since they haven't made one for years, and the name remindes me of Rebel assault. There is a slim chance that it might be a new Battlefront. Maybe they just don't want to make a BF3 anymore but want to reboot it, and called it First Assault, or maybe they will put in a battlefront into the name later on, Battlefront: First Assault would sound pretty awesome. Anyway i will be happy aslong as it is a new hardcore star wars game for me to enjoy, please no more SW kinect, or Republic heroes x_x and im good
Battlefront: First Assault.... Hmmmm.... Please don't be like Elite Squadrons if are a Battlefront...
I don't know what to think at this point, because with a name like that, it could be just about anything at this point.
Well it seems that First Assaullt is set in the galactic civil war era since there is 5 stormtroopers shooting at 3 guys who have very similair clothes as the rebels on endor on the cover. my guess is that it will be somekind of online only multiplayer shooter, so kind of like battlefront but maybe on a smaller size, maybe more like COD :/
Hey just wondering doesn't this new Lego set remind you of a 2004 game? If so does this lead us to any clues about First Assault? Like a Lego tie-in to the game?
I think they want to do a Battlefront 3 like game, but instead they are a making a COD version of Star Wars. I mean it worked combining battlefield and Star Wars, so they might want to try COD and SW? It would be cheaper for them to produce, since it wouldn't have as high expectations like a BF3 would, there would be no veichles, probably no campaign, and be released on steam/Xbox Live Arcade and PSN. I think it makes sence
I hate the Clone Wars era. We've had nothing but Clone Wars garbage for so long (with the exception of the Old Republic--which I haven't tried). I think my disdain spawns from how awful AotC was and how that Clone Wars CGI cartoon pretty much erases what the original (and amazing) Clone Wars cartoon established. Best thing the Clone Wars gave us, imo, was that original cartoon and Republic Commando.
