    Warding Mists - Secondary Bridge

Reviewing the readout on the panel next to his seat he contemplated what they should do. In the begining of things, they are simple, but this was a unique situation. A distress from Tund was farther then they had planned to first step out into the galaxy, nearly a half again the distance, and within territory that had and was recognized by the galaxy as the region of the Centrality.

This could be a trap, preying on whoever wandered into it. A test of those within this region of space, or even simply what it appeared. . .which could prove disasterous in it's own right to most other species having special needs, not to mention the restrictions against allowing the commoners of foreign species access to Gand. Refugees in this case would be highly unwanted, but there were other things they could do. Overall a situation that warranted a true representative, he already was drawing up the lines of what ships they could spare for something like this.

So far he had figured Gand could spare:

    1x Munificent-class star frigate
    1x Victory-I Star Destroyer
    2x Dreadnaught Cruiser
    4x CR90A Corvette
    2x Assassin-class CR90B
    1x Consular-class cruiser (Charger c70 retrofit)
    1x IR-3F
    5x Marauder Corvette

"Is that all you will be taking D'arrte? What of Warding Mists?" came a familiar questioning voice as Ooryk looked around his shoulder at the screen he was working on.

"The Flag Ship of Gand is to stay with Gand unless a need for Gand requirs otherwise as such a great ship is not as expendable. Fear not though, Ooryk shall remain to watch over the fleet while leave to take care of this. I shall take command of the Munificent-class Discerning Gazer and lead these. The IR-3F, Consular-class, and one dreadnaught will go ahead into the system while Discerning Gazer and the rest wait to enter at the edge of the system where our sensors can discern what is ahead as we wander into it."

There was a softening to Ooryk's gaze as his head shifted, trying to discern what all this meant. In the end D'arrte was uncertain if he understood, but he knew in his abscence Ooryk would act well to stand as a warding guard around Gand. Whilst he dealt with the situations that required heavier thought.

OCC: Talks easy? Did I convince you?

    IC: Brandle
    Filmed on Location: Eriadu

Brandle opened his eyes. Sunlight He sat up and rubbed his eyes. The large, luxurious office was just beginning to brighten as the dawn?s early light crept above the horizon. He had fallen asleep in his chair again. It was a very comfortable chair though. The light on his desk com was blinking. He pressed the button as he tried to rub the sleep out of his eyes.

?Greetings, I trust you are ready now? As you can see, I decided to give you a bit of time, as I got sidetracked by sightseeing?

It was the Imperial Diplotmat. Sightseeing. Yeah, right. Eridu was as far from a tourist attraction as you could get. Ugly industrial park covers a large segment of the planet. Brandle hoped to improve the environmental regulations at some point. So many other things he had to take care of, though.

?Secretary, take a message for the imperial diplomat.? He said into the com. A young man answered.

?Yes, Sir.? Brandle wracked his brain for a moment.

?Have part of the Presidential Complex set up for diplomatic talks. Inform the envoy that we are indeed ready to discuss the future of the Galaxy.? It was a bit grandiose but so what. He got up and made his way to the quarters adjacent to his office to ready himself for the meetings. The diplomatic corps would take care of the details but he wanted to be there for the first day. Show the envoy he considered these talks a personal priority.
Then the cold water hit his face and his thoughts were too cold to move as well.

    Barab I

"We have no intentions of foul play, we intend to come out of this mistake of ours alive. We didn't expect the Roxuli System to have such a tremendous fleet," replied the leader of the Pirate Fleet. It was clear that he had made yet another mistake, and that was the fact that he was NOT in the Roxuli System, which had a planet known for its mining exports, but rather the OTHER system in the Albanin Sector, the Barabel Homeworld of Barab I. However, it was also clear that he was oblivious to this fact.

As your boarding parties board the Pirate ships, which have also called in all of their remaining fighters, you encounter virtually no resistance, and are able to take control of the remaining ships.

    Tund

You arrive at Tund, and find the following Imperial Fleet that has began to subjugate the world of Tund:

2 Kuat Drive Yards Imperial Escort Carriers
    - 2 squadrons of Sienar Fleet Systems TIE Fighters each
    - 2 squadrons of Sienar Fleet Systems TIE Interceptors each
    - 2 squadrons of Sienar Fleet Systems TIE Bombers each
2 Damorian Manufacturing Corporation Tartan-class patrol cruisers
4 Corellian Engineering Corp. CR90B Assassin Corvettes
1 Sienar Fleet Systems Immobilizer-418 Interdictor Cruiser
    - 1 squadron of Sienar Fleet Systems TIE Fighters
    - 1 squadron of Sienar Fleet Systems TIE Bombers
1 Damorian Manufacturing Corp. Carrack Cruiser
    - 5 Sienar Fleet Systems TIE Fighters
1 Rendili StarDrive Victory-II Star Destroyer
    - 1 squadron of Sienar Fleet Systems TIE Fighters
    - 1 squadron of Sienar Fleet Systems TIE Interceptors

It appears that the distress beacon that you heard was part of a last ditch effort, and was made as during the former planetary government's last stand.

    Eriadu

The talks so far have gone well, and although there hasn't been any agreement reached, there may very likely be an alliance formed, under the following stipulations from the Imperial Ambassador:

You agree to start producing ships and weapons for the Imperial War Effort, as well as support them when needed, and in turn, you will gain certain favors from the Empire.

    GM Note

These "certain favors" from the Empire, will be Reputation Points. If your character agrees to the terms, you will gain 3 Reputation Points every day (producing ships and weapons for the Imperial War Effort) at the cost of 1 million credits from your daily income, and an additional 6 Reputation Points for each mission (support them when needed). These points can be spent on the following:

Reinforcements: Any Imperial/Independent ship from the Price List in the Library Thread, with their prices in reputation points instead of millions of credits. And yes, like when you construct additional ships with starfighter complement that aren't built from the start, you have to pay extra for starfighters for ships with additional starfighter complement that you ask for as reinforcements as well.
Blueprints: Research for any Imperial ship from the Price List, with their prices in reputation points instead of millions of credits. This is done in addition to any additional research for the ship and is necessary even if said ship has no research requirements listed, but like any other research, is only needed once for that ship.

    GM Note to all

As you can probably tell by now, if you haven't posted within updates, you won't get an update until you make a post. This is both to ensure that I am not updating you in vain, and to make sure you can catch up reasonably well.

Bridge of the Munificent - Discerning Gazer

It was surprise that first ran through his mind as he stared at what had awaited them at the far side of the journey. The nest that ran the Munificent was silent as he looked at the readout of the Emperial forces currently subjugating Tund, a task for which he doubted any had truly contemplated. Unless they knew something that they didn't about Tund. Personnel on the planet was likely minimal, so the fleet was mainly overkill in a way that only found meaning by their presence here.

Thinking of his own forces he had to shake his head in dismal dismay that he had not brought those four more ships he had considered, but they were for Gand. Still, was it their place to intervene? Should they? What would it bring Gand? Nothing good as far as he could tell, nothing. . .unless he turned the tides in a different strategy. "Jam all communications except our short-range communications channels. D'arrte does not want anything getting out of this system unless D'arrte approves it!"

No, nothing for Gand unless they won. If they won, a world was ripened to pick that had some value that they did not recognize, and better ships of the line might be procured that would lend to making them able to expand much sooner then previous predictions. Not to mention, of all the targets that might bring back Findsman to work for Gand again in a more militaristic fashion, this Empire was the one that would best win such favor with the wandering Gand.

"Tactical plan Theta, use the sublanguages we did not let them hear with the scrambling pattern Delta." It was obtuse but so was surviving suicide, with only slight margins of error left open. "Launch all fighters, Kiraal desires a blazing ball where those Carrack Cruiser, Tartans, and Escort Carriers are. XM-1 Missile Boats, Xg-1 Assault Gunboats shall pair up for the run through the enemy fleets middle before returning on which ever side is least armored against starfighters. Half of the Z-95's will fly escort for them, the other to intercept any bombers that may attack our capital ships. Advise all fighters to run like mercury through that fleet but leave the Inderdictor intact beyond it's engines."

Plan Theta involved an inverted chevron, with in this instance the Dreadnaught and Star Destroyer forming the two forward ends, medium capital ships would form the lines in an alternating pattern of Marauders and Corellian CR's, then the light capital ships in the rear just ahead of the Discerning Gazer. The IR-3F and Counsilar class ship though in the rear were in a position to move forward if the enemy fighters became to much of a problem for the Z-95's. Once in position they would advance upon enemy fleet. "The jamming must be maintained until all enemy ships are disabled, destroyed or captured, and only then if they have lost communication abilities."

He withheld orders for the YKL-37R Nova Couriers that were now moving to hold station around the Munificent class vessel, as they were for if things went south too quickly. Hopefully it would not come to such things. Until then they would act as a final screen against fighters.

The nest now buzzed and hummed literally with activity as they set to work using the ships equipment to best relay and carry out the orders that they were able to do. It was beauty, like a lost work of music, but only time would tell whether this was a chant of victory they had composed or a death croon that had yet to sound it's victims fool-hardy final moments.

    Location: Eriadu

Brandle awoke in his office chair again. He stood and made his way to the refresher, shielding his eyes with his hand. Blasted windows. These last few days had been long and grueling. The diplomat corps was put right to work as soon as the team was pulled together. Composed of diplomats from before the Empirical collapse, university professors and recent grads, it was the most impressive collection of minds gathered in one place on Eriadu for a long time. Of course, quality and speed came at a price. Ten million to simply find, entice, transport them to the Presidential Palace. It was a brutal price but with the Empire on their hook it had to be paid. Thankfully, new positions were found for them in the local area. They were now cost neutral. He did not think he could pull that off but the cost savings of having pros handle a lot of government work produce enough savings from expensive errors to cancel out their salaries.

?The treaty is ready for your final review and signature, sir.? Brandle nodded as he finished getting into the speeder. The aid handed him a copy. Brandle clicked the speeder?s internal comm.

?Driver, take us to the negotiating complex.? He then opened the treaty and began reading.

The Galactic Empire, hereafter simply the ?Empire,? and the Independent Eriadu System, hereafter simply? Eriadu,? do agree to follow and be bound by the following stipulations.

    1) The Empire acknowledges and respects the current ruler, Brandle Jem, as the rightful and legitimate leader of Eriadu. The Empire also acknowledges and recognizes Eriadu?s independence and right to self-governance. Eriadu likewise acknowledges and recognizes the Empire?s independence and legitimacy as the governing entity over the planet(s), system(s), and other entities currently under the Empire?s jurisdiction.

    2) The Empire acknowledges the right of Eriadu as an independent system to engage in any and all activates of a self-governed entity including expansion of territory by military means to any planet, system, or sector which is either: not under the governance of the Empire, not bound by any treaties to the Empire, or not engaged in active negotiations during the time of expansion. Eriadu likewise acknowledges the Empire?s right to such activities.

    3) Eriadu will produce and deliver, within reasonable efforts, ships, weapon, and/or war materiel as the Empire requests up to a value of one (1) million credits per galactic day.

    4) Eriadu will also provide military assistance to the Empire upon request with considerations to the military capability of Eriadu at the time of request. Eriadu reserves the right to refuse any requests for military assistance not directly involving an ongoing or impending attack by a third party.

    5) The Empire will also provide military assistance to the Eriadu upon request. As the Empire have many properties to protect. Eriadu understands and accepts that such assistance will be proportional to the assistance provided by Eriadu both in regards to materiel shipments and military assistance.

    6) The Empire will also provide construction blueprints for ships and other items to Eriadu upon request in proportion to the assistance provided by Eriadu both in regards to materiel shipments and military assistance.

    7) The Empire understands and accepts that Eriadu is still improving planetary infrastructure. As such the Empire understands and accepts the fact it will take some time until Eriadu can begin materiel shipments.

    8) The effective period of this treaty begins on the date of the first materiel shipment(s) and continues until either party wishes to negotiate its cessation.

?Very good,? Brandle mutter to himself as he returned the treaty to the aid. They arrived at the complex and entered.

?I am very pleased with the treaty and hope that you are also.? Brandle said as he sat down to the table. ?May this agreement be the beginning of a long and mutually beneficial relationship between our respective powers.? He signed the officia
