Great sampler. The Heir to the Jedi one mentions "Captain" Ackbar and his distaste for smuggling, which are awesome little EU nods. Mon Mothma was mentioned, as was the Alliance Fleet. The first person bit was only distracting for a few pages, then I stopped noticing.

All in all, I am excited for the book!

OK. The blurb actually makes this sound quite good. Almost like a Wraith-Squadron like rescue mission. Intrigued.

Wow, the wait between Tarkin and Heir to the Jedi is gonna suck. Is there even the smallest chance that another book gets slotted in between?

 

Don't think so. I'm not even buying Tarkin , so HTTJ is the next one I'm actually planning on purchasing

 

getting excited for this novel now.

 

Well, if you're into comic singles then both Star Wars & Darth Vader will launch in January and February, respectively

 

I wonder what these delays are about.

 

Just to rewind a bit, I suppose the reason the ghostly duo never gave Luke practical info onhow to fight Palpatine would be that he couldn't. In ROTJ he has made amazing progress, but this is the being that casually dispatched several Jedi Masters i seconds, defeated Yoda, and may have thrown the fight against Windu. Teaching Luke to block Dooku-style lightning doesn't do much go improve his chances. I think they were basically just hoping the Force would give him an opening. And it did.

 

Probably to better tie into planned Episode VII marketing.

 

Someone on one of the podcasts I listened to (I think it might have been Beyond the Films, not sure) suggested that it could have something to do with A New Dawn sales being lower than expected

 

I wonder if Disney could do a marketing push for all of its media.

 

I think Disney should just give in and do the inevitable "Marvel/Star Wars" crossover media universe already.

 

As long as its non-canon
