Star Wars Holiday Special Airing in Canada

Hi everyone,

Not sure if anyone else has heard yet, but apparently some of the Star Wars Holiday Special will be airing in Canada Thursday night on CBC. I've posted more info here.

Hopefully it will be a decent portion of it and not just a few clips.

 

Does LFL know about this?

 

This means a good copy! I must find away to watch, tape and bootleg!

It sounds like they're only going to have clips. And, it is possible that they are clips from a bootleg, not a high quality version.

Hmm, I think I get CBC here. But I'll probably forget to watch it.

 

CBC is a government-owned public broadcaster so I can't believe they would show a bootleg or other wise show it without a license. I called Zed's office and emailed them asking for more information, if I hear back from them I'll post their response.

 

I gotta know when this thing airs. I havent seen it and I want to see for my own eyes how horrible it is.

 

FOX News did show a few very short clips here in the states one time.

 

Did anyone catch this? I was late coming home (didn't set the VCR) and only caught "George Lucas in Love" from the beginning.

Is they any way to get ahold of an original reel so that someone can make a nice transfer?

 

Nope, Lucas apparently went on a hunt with alot of money and bought up all the master copies so it couldn't be re-aired.

 

I hear a few studant and college cinemas show it, mayeb they have the hidden gems.
