    Hello Chicago FF :D

Did anyone see the PBS special last night about Star Wars in Concert? Looks like there will be two shows at the United Center on Sunday December 6th. Is anyone going?

I saw the PBS special, and it looks like a great show. However, I just got back from 3-days of concerts
with the Cincy pops orchestra (including Anthony Daniels) and was pretty much stunned by how good it was.

I grew up on story telling concerts (Peter and the Wolf) and thought that this worked well.

Also, the idea of a live orchestra for a film is cool, as I have had this experience before at Ravinia,
(Alexander Netsky..sepll?) But, that was a silent film and made for it.

George Lucas, has always commented on the "silent film" aspects of Star Wars, so I am curious about it,

but can also see this concert as one big marketing effort just before the Holiday season....

No doubt that this will have a Celebration like atmosphere, with a traveling display, however,
the "rock concert" like presentation seems too much for me.

I would go more to see fellow fans, the displays, and to just listen to the music,
    but the cost............seems.........un.....er.......well......costly:)

However, if you like Star Wars, and have not been to a concert, museum, book signing, convention, etc etc etc,

    lately,

and live in the Chicago-Land area,

    you should seriously consider going.

right now, I would need to win free tickets (and even then I might give them away)

really hope someone I know goes, and takes some photos, and posts their opinions
on the Chicago Concert..........at the United Center.

Information on Star Wars in Concert in Chicago was posted on JAM Productions' Facebook page Tickets for 1:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. are listed as going on sale on Saturday, October 17 at 11:00 A.M. Prices are listed as $85, $59.50, or $39.50. WTTW and WFMT have tickets for the 1:00 P.M. concert available for $120, but there doesn't appear to be any indication as to where those seats would be.

The PBS special will be rerun tonight on WTTW-TV (Channel 11) at 9:30 P.M. and 11:00 P.M.

    I missed the special...
thanks for the heads up that it will be re-played..

I will probably be there in costume for at least one of the performances..
though I think it would be good idea to buy a ticket too....
if the budget can handle it...

    Though...
    from all I have seen...
this one is NOT to be missed!

I have done several concerts in Ohio, IN and IL..
and they all have been very special...

Chicago Force is not purchasing tickets for this event as a Group.

If you want to go, please get your own tickets.

Most of the Chicago Force members going will be attending the 6:00 p.m. show. We can meet before or after if there is interest.

I bought a ticket for the 1:00 PM show and will be in costume for the 6:00 PM show...
I am in the cheap seats...section 317 but am in Row 1...
Section 317 looks pretty crappy.....as it is just about at the side and the last section before you are officiall "in the back"...

    :(

Well...maybe if they let the costumed people see the show at the 6:00 PM one...I will be able to get a better view...

    So...
how did you all like the concert?

    I really enjoyed it...
The ticket I purchased was not really the greatest seat...I was up in the nosebleed section and way to the side...

George Lucas actually attended the 1:00 PM performance..
supposedly it was the first time he saw the concert live..

And I thought the guy sitting next to me was just had a really excellent George Lucas costume! Maybe those sold out houses might inspire someone to come up with some "expanded universe" movies, with live actors, even? Seems like a lot of the newest generation is into Star Wars, judging from the 1,567 kids that had their picture taken with me that day.

Wow Lionel, that would be funny.

I had a great time at the 6pm show. Loved that handwritten score on display, and it was a near thing not to steal one of those Ewoks. I mean, that glass can't be that thick, can it?

I dunno, might have been him. I think I might have stepped on his foot when I went out to troop during intermission. There was a bunch of old white haired guys with beards in that row, so I decided to sit there so as to not feel so generationally out of place. One of them could have been Santa Claus, too. Maybe.
May the Farz be with you,
