I purposely refrained myself from browsing through Insider when Winbros brought it, so that I won't feel like I've read it before when I buy it ;)

    TPBs of comics u mean?
well, Kino doesn't have the old ones in stock, and anyway, Kino has crappy supply (dents at the top and bottom, dogears, etc)

The cheapest would be at G&B Comics at Bras Basah, 3rd floor.

Comics Asylum at lucky Plaza and Orchard station popular also has, sometimes in good condition, but at a very expensive rate

I would personally recommend Comics Mart at Serene Centre because though you pay more than at G&B, the quality is mostly almost perfect, and it's cheaper than Comics Asylum

Since all TIME bookstores are renting out space for Comics Mart, just hop over to any TIMES bookshop and they've got quite a good supply of TPBs, price reasonable too.
    ;)

Plaza Singapura and Northpoint got those TPB SW comics it seems.

Just as a guide, I gotten my Dark Empire (6 issues out as 1) at about $36 a few years ago. ;)

Issue by issue has the previlage of the suspense but TPB seems to hve all the extra stuffs.

Frankly, if it's an old comic, I'll get TPB but new means issue by issue. ;)

Having bought comics for many years, I can suggest that if you're a collector who likes to look back at monthly comics and covers, then go for the single issues. Another point it that you don't have to wait for months before the TPB comes out.

Like DE said, TPB sometimes come with extra stuff like sketches and scripts and new artwork, but this is not necessarily the case. The good points of a TPB would be a cheaper price (compared to buying the same comics individually) and also convenience and durability since one can read the entire story like a full graphic novel instead of taking one comic by one comic (which I do, but sometimes frustrating, and runs the risk of damaging my comic) :D

    tmingyang,
The Times bookshop at PS has a Comics Mart inside of it which has a pretty good range of the various Star Wars Graphic Novels (or TPBs, as you refer to them).

For reading, I would prefer Graphic Novels/TPBs, but for collecting, perhaps you might also want to own the various original weekly/monthly comics, as they would be more valuable in the long run than the Graphic Novels/TPBs.

However, I wouldn't recommend the weekly/monthly comics if you have a limited budget, because there are usually quite a number of different series running at the same time, so Graphic Novels/TPBs are a good alternative, if you ask me.

Hope this has been helpful to you.

About Star Wars having many series running at the same time, that's untrue. There's currently only 2 ongoing titles and one of them is a quarterly title (once every three months). It's better to buy mini-series as they come out as u'd have to wait quite awhile for a TPB.

I checked out Kino today and there was no Insider.. [face_plain]
