Lit Star Wars is Dead

Star Wars may not be dead.

But EU most certainly is.

And Disney kicked down my door and burned all my sources. They tied me to a chair and forced me to watch.

 

I know! I wish Disney will do their research, build on continuity instead of razing it.

 

Damn, those Disney commandos are tough.

 

Mickey drives his men hard. When they come for my Star Wars books, I plan to bombard them with Dreamworks merchandise and hope they'll run away. Or I could throw some Nazi memorabilia and see if they run to fetch it...

 

Now now, Walt Disney wasn't a Nazi.

He was a horrific capitalist.

Also a technocrat who wanted to build a Science World!

 

Oh I know he wasn't a Nazi, doesn't make it any less fun to joke about it.

Of course, when I say Disney is evil, I'm not joking.

 

I think this was planned a long time ago, with the scrubbing of the EU stuff from TOS last year. And The message boards and Sue Rostini, I doubt she quit, she probably was told there was no work for her.

 

Chuck, it occurs to me that you came back in the nick of time.

 

And so we will possibly begin our slow decent into Star Wars just being another strip mined franchise. 9 episodes and then a reboot. Rinse, repeat, because I doubt they'll create new characters. Luke, Leia, Vader, etc are what people know. It's like how Bruce Wayne will always be Batman and DC will have a "-------- Crisis" to always ensure that. The only comfort I have is all the TCW and "G Canon" people that always said "get over it" every time something happened that contradicted the books might very well get screwed as well (TAKE ALL OF IT DOWN DISNEY!! GO BIG OR GO HOME!!! LET THEM KNOW MY PAIN!!!)

Who knows, maybe there will be some gems in this new DSWU, but if the worst happens and it's all gone I'm done buying anything Star Wars outside of the toys, whatever these films may be, and possible a game or two. Good Fight all my "Essential Guide to ---------" and books......good fight....stay gold....bang

Why would they hire a replacement for her, then? That doesn't make sense.
