My serious guess is that the romance is not for Ben (for once). Owen and Beru are also already a couple and a scruffy-looking stork has brought them a child, so new characters will get some love. My non-serious guess: Obi-Wan goes through a phase in which he goes into a bar, has a drink, chops some arms off and charms anyone he likes, night after night. But what happens when he starts having actual feelings? Will this romance end in tragedy? (Hint: it will) My more non-serious and more tragic guess: Obi-Wan had just bought a ring and was on his way to his girlfriend when he saw Tusken raiders attacking a boy...
The romance element will confirm my long standing theory that Ben Kenobi had fathered twelve kids offscreen in ANH and that he was on the run from his second mistress when Luke found him out in the desert. Don't anyone give me that "Ben Skywalker can't just be offscreen in Epsiode 7" poodoo when Ben Kenobi had his kids running around offscreen all along!

This book sounds great! I think there is a lot of potential for interesting stories that can be told about Obi-Wan during this time period. I have not read anything by this author yet, but from what I have heard I think he will do a good job. I shall have to add it onto my list of books to check out.

Would he need twelve for that? Only three of them are allowed to talk at any given time. The rest could be dolls. Actually, only two have to be humans. One doll can have a small droid inside that chooses an obvious remark time to time. Obi-Wan: We are worried about the local Tusken tribes.
