What can I say? When you have a talent for ruining obvious and immature jokes, might as well put it to use.
Same way as Darth Plagueis, Star Wood, LSatSoM and numerous other stories written about existing characters in existing eras with existing stories and existing endpoints have been able to offer something. except we knew next to nothing about Plegius, and we know everything about Obi Wan
Well if they really want to keep that train a-chuggin', they know what they have to do. And come to think of it, wasn't Heddle's (or Chee's?) response to the prospect of a Tyranus novel along the lines of "maybe when TCW's over"?
Including his secret wife and the son he abandoned after that drunken one night stand in Mos Eisley? We know little more about Obi-Wan's life between ROTS and ANH than we did about Plagueis's life as "Sith Master. Trained Palpatine. Died somewhere." apart from the broad brushstrokes of "Jedi. Lived on Tatooine. Guarded Luke." If Plagueis being alive during TPM has shown anything, it's that we know nothing.
I am so excited for this book to come up. This and Crucible are IMO going to be the best Star Wars book of 2013.
I think it will be a nice throwback story, Just Luke, Han and Leia. No kids, grandkids, i think it will be awesome.
Denning is a good writer, but I am greatly concerned at the direction he took the franchise in his other books.
I will admit I liked Tatooine Ghost and Star by Star. Then after that... I dunno. In a way I almost consider all his other books to be written by someone else. It's almost like he's writing for a soap opera now. "What's the most scandalous thing I can do with these characters regardless of their individual backgrounds? Who can I pair with whom? Who can I pitch against whom?"

This and Crucible are IMO going to be the best Star Wars book of 2013. lol if those are the best books of the year, methinks it will be a bad year. When did Annihliation come out? Was that this year? Cause i think that and Scoundrels will top top Crucible and Kenobi , especially Crucible. I am not expecting much. Frannkly i am tired of Denning. Does no one else wnat to wtite in this time period??
Annihilation was the epitome of average for me. Great book, but not great Star Wars great. I will enjoy Kenobi and Crucible much more. I can tell you that right now!
I think that if Obi-Wan did have offspring, it would have to be by blood cloning process. A little known fact is that when Padawan's are elevated to Knighthood, they ritually cut off their braid, but males also have their ... ahem .... member cut off. Jedi Knights literally become Eunichs. This was one of Ahsoka Tano's duties before she undertook her apprenticeship under Anakin Skywalker. After all, she isn't known as Snips for nothing...
