I'm ready for this one. I think this is probably gonna be one of my last EU books to look forward to before....you know. I don't know, there may be something else coming down the pipe that might be cool, I'm not sure. But this one here! I've always wanted to know what the hell Ben was doing during this time, even if it was just sitting around in cantinas getting hammered!! On a side note, I read the synopsis and can't help but think that they might tie in the whole Sharaad Hett thing that Krayt told about in the Legacy comics. I could be wrong, I'm not up on the whole timeline correctness stuff, but it sounded pretty similar, and it would be friggin cool.

It's not "tender loving care", that's for sure.

I just checked to see when the Kindle edition would be available for download and it's August 27. Hopefully I'm finished with the NJO by then.

That does seem to be what the blurb is talking about, although I find it odd that this event has already been chronicled in a comic and a previous book.

On an unrelated note I will be very disappointed if there is no Qui-Gon scene in this book.

We need to see Qui-Gon communing with Obi-Wan about the Journal of the Whills. How else would Obi-Wan have learned how to Force-ghost?

I just hope it's shown in the book.

Then again, I also expected to see ghost Obi-Wan in Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor.

i thought we got quite a bit of what Obi wan did during this time period or at least somewhat before it with Last Of The Jedi and The Life and Legend of Obi Wan. Still i am hoping for some unique tidbits in this novel

That's in the right ballpark. It's longer than Knight Errant.

OK, there's a way for me to grab this relatively cheap - 400 pages is a good size for a hardback, so you've just sold me the book John.

Note: UK hardback prices have been stupidly high since the start of the year, why I don't know but it's pigging irritating.

Per year? You want this to be A Song of Scum and Villainy?

400 pages sounds very good. I was planning to pick up this novel anyway, but this sounds really thick now. While other works have touched on some of the stuff Obi-wan did in those decades, still sounds like this novel will be about adjusting to Tatooine rather than having adventures protecting Luke, dealing with future Sith Lords, meeting up with supposed "the last Jedi", etc.

400 pages of text or is all of the title page, Star Wars timeline, bibliographical and previews included in that? I don't really check about books and their lengths. I know 256 pages is a place holder but not much more than that.

If he wasn't doing this already then Palpatine was seriously incompetent, after all even if he wasn't worried that Obi-Wan wasn't coming after him he certainly wouldn't have done nothing about it even if his apprentice wanted to find him himself!

According to Dark Times, he is not worried about Jedi after Order 66. I don't know why.

Well, I couldn't speak of him in a cavalier way. He's never been to Virginia. (Okay, yes, puns exhausted. Long before I said anything, in fact!)

And you couldn't say anything major from the novel, as he's not a major.

You have proven your qualifications. You should write a Qui-Gon Jinn novel :)
