Yes, but now I'm annoyed that you haven't read YDR, Plagueis, DMSH, Knight Errant, SotE, Shatterpoint...

 

Much worse no Han Solo Trilogy, no Han Solos Adventures and no Lando Calrissian Adventures!

 

OK, I'll have to amend my statement - I have read the HST and HSA - and the second time, I read them together. But, yeah, I was hesitant to ask, since I knew most of you would be irritated with me.

Of course, I got into the EU to see the continuation of the OT characters. I didn't care all that much about the PT or those characters - and then there's so much to read, I didn't know where to start.

eta. I've also read SOTE, Mindor, Allegiance, Choices of One, etc. So my post ROTJ statement was erroneous. I suppose I should have said, I usually only read the Big 3 novels. Or in the Han Solo books, 1/3 of the Big 3.

Read the short story Incognito today. I thought it was great, it had the essential portrayal of Obi-wan trying to stay below the radar and protect Luke balanced against his need to help other people. The setting was very well done too, a great job showing the Empire in all its tyranny and ugliness, even so early in the Dark Times. The protagonist was a good sympathetic character in his own right, bonus points for his politician's background.

 

Yes. Yes, go do it. Right now. Do not sleep until you have finished. I demand it.

Hmm, Obi Wan in a bar, ordering drinks, hitting on the ladies, spouting off quotes from the Jedi Code...

 

Still can't wait to pick this up. Won't hesitate to pay hardback prices. This book looks so terrific; I'd buy it just to use the cover art as a poster, but I can't wait to read what's inside!

i don't mean to derail things but, It would be stupid to make the Yoda vs. Dark jedi battle non canon. Its where we get the freaking dark side cave from

I like it. The start is great, JJM's fantastic humor, and I like the portrait of Tatooine that's getting painted so far. The meditation interludes are a very nice device, too.

 

i'd like to see some delving into ben's consciousness maybe go into details on survivors guilt, getting over it with qui gon, nightmares over the clone wars etc..

 

Well he could always go Jennir and just spent most of one Story Arc in a Brothel.
