OOC: There aren't enough ways to say how sorry I am at how late this is.

    IC: Mirai

The walk/skip to the front offices had been a pleasant, if not quiet, one. There had been no resistance from any pesky guards (some asylum this was if there was no protection, Mirai thought loosely) and it had been easy enough to splash a few vials here and there. Once she got to her destination, if she wished, Mirai could easily strike a match and woosh! An entire trail of pretty fire and lovely flames going back to where she'd come from. Like dominos, as it were. Dominos on fire. Her favorite kind.

When she got to the office wing's main doors, Mirai stopped and blinked. There was no side panel requiring a retinal scan or scan for prints, no keypad requiring special codes or combinations. Rather, and even in her delirious haze of excitement and anticipation, even she was surprised to see that a rather primitive lock was set into the door before her.

"Can't be that simple," Mirai glanced down and informed her box of pretties. "They're not stupid. Well- not Doctor Quill-ey. But that's why she's a doctor, not a locksmith." A giggle bubbled within her as she realized the arrogance, the stupidity, of the administration and those who maintained the building. A simple lock! As if no patient with any decent skills would ever escape and have enough sense to pick it. Every Twi'lek street child worth their smarts knew how to pick a lock- some before they could even walk, perhaps. Mirai had always loved puzzles, so locks to anywhere and everywhere were never a challenge. Not if one had the right equipment....there....to the left, and...

The door easily slid open, a loose wire Mirai had procured from her treasure box her solution and her salvation. It was almost too easy. This thought made Mirai snort, again dismissive and condescending toward the asylum's administration and their transparent confidence in securing their patients. They'd obviously never thought anyone was clever enough to escape. Fools.

Now to her prize! A small hallway showed doorways to basic offices to her right and left, and they weren't even worth her close attention. Mirai carelessly threw various chunks of Bakelite clay here and there, sometimes opening a door and tossing the flammable substance inside, sometimes merely sticking it to the door. At the same time, she spilled more vials here and there- a little ether here, some ethanol, a hint of acetone. The aroma that rose was delightful, but Mirai did not stop to savor it. No no. She was merely going to do some...reading, then release her flames at her leisure. Nothing here would instantly combust, not until her desired control and release.

Having that much power made Mirai's head swim, just a little, and she squealed and skipped her way to a familiar name- Dr. Quill-ey's office!

Hmm. Now this was a disappointment. Nothing exciting here. No art, no sculptures, no intriguing bookcase of data files for her to read (seriously, what did that girl DO after hours? How did she relax?). It was all boring and flat. Wait a minute. Maybe they had been holding Dr. Quill-ey back, too! Maybe she couldn't have anything to show herself off! Well, too bad for them! She'd simply have to help her friend out!

"Just a makeover, Quilley Quill, redecorating, you deserve this," Mirai crouched on top of the good doctor's chair, now throwing her vials of liquids with purpose. Stains quickly appeared on the furniture, the walls, the floor, all in a delightful potpourri of promise, destruction, and dedication. There, that was much better! Mirai could feel herself relaxing, and a tuneless hum emerged as she worked, preparing the room for its new look in time to her music.

The sounds of running and shuffling briefly drew her away from the magic of the moment of her work, but Mirai did not lift her head to acknowledge the noises in full. Time was precious, as was the hunt, and the chore of the mixing was starting to wear her down, a little. Just another spill in that corner there-

And Mirai found herself on the floor, a pair of arms tightly wrapped around her, her potion spilling into a nearby puddle. Oh well, it belonged there anyhow, didn't it? But whose arms were these? Obviously someone who thought themselves a friend. Her benefactor? Time for manners, then.

The arms belonged to a slender woman, colorfully outfitted and bouncing, even lying on top of her. An enormous grin was spread across her face, and she was making little squealing noises, her eyes dancing. Somehow this woman knew her. Somehow Mirai didn't know her. Somehow, THAT didn't bother her.

A glimpse out of the corner of her eye showed Mirai that her new friend had not come alone. A Chiss stood back, bemused and eyeing the scene, and in front of him-

"Lolarus," Mirai said, breathing in sharply. She felt a twinge of fear twist her belly, and did her best to suppress the emotions. She hadn't been afraid in quite some time, not even of the flames, but Lolarus had a reputation, even for her. Was HE her benefactor? In any case, she needed to step lively and quickly when he ordered. Just as long as he didn't touch her flames. Then there would be trouble.

The girl scrambled off her, and Mirai sat up, her head once again swimming, but from the new information before her. This was a pack, not enemies, and so far she seemed to be immune from any of their trouble, if the girl's embrace had anything to do with it and meant something. Nothing wrong with joining a pack. They might help her get to her flames faster. HER flames. She'd make them aware of that once she got her voice and her courage back.

The girl was now tossing out weapons, and before she knew it, an old old friend was sitting in her lap- the small blowtorch she had been wielding when first she arrived at the asylum. Those beasts, those brutes had taken it from her, and now it was back! Back where it belonged!

Mirai purred, and embraced her toy, her darling, rocking back and forth. With this, and her pretty box, and her new friends (she'd figure out Lolarus and the Chiss later), she felt one step closer to the flames, and unstoppable.

OOC: Not much, but better than I've had of late.

    IC: Cade Skywalker
Eh, where/whenever he is. I’ve lost track… Maybe in the Princess’ shuttle, 137 ABY or some such…. but, anyways…

Cade was caught up examining the death stick in his hand, contemplating whether to throw it out the airlock or guzzle it down. Or throw himself out the airlock, now that was a fairly interesting thought as well. The whole galaxy was going up in smoke anyways right? Well, Lok was, and the Mynock was gone. Luke vanished. Mara… might have never been there. Really there wasn’t enough evidence to support this theory that the galaxy was kriffin kraffed, but it sounded more dramatic.

At any rate, he didn’t much notice that he was alone with the Bothan, nor that the Bothan spoke to him. It wasn’t until he heard the “Skywalker” that he perked up and tried to pay attention. Something about if he was really himself. Silly. What was Cade supposed to say to that? Of course he was himself. Then again, the Bothan could have asked if Cade was Cade Skywalker, though how the Jedi knew him he wasn’t sure. He’d have remembered that ugly mug. His mind had been rather off of late, though, so it was impossible to tell.

“I’m me, if that’s what you’re asking.” That wasn’t what the Bothan had asked, Cade was now quite sure of that, but he’d let the guy figure out how to take that statement. Either way, he wasn't about to fess up to being a Skywalker, or at least he didn’t think he’d mentioned that bit yet.

    Jedi Knight Tionne
Tatooine, Mos Espa, 14 ABY, early year

Tionne offered a slight smile, as Kam nodded, 'Time to go.' Together, they followed Jaden, as he led them as quickly as he could through the chaos of whatever was happening to the city, to the docking bay. Tionne thought it was a wonderful looking sight ... that is, until she saw that the ship that Jaden was leading them to, seemed to be surrounded by a trio of troopers, and someone that Tionne could instantly identify. A dark force user, who seemed intent on gaining entry into the ship, but so far they were unable.

Tionne frowned, as she heard Jaden mutter, 'We don't have time for this,' drawing his lightsaber as they knelt behind the wreckage of an Imperial shuttle. Suddenly the Force seemed to scream, and the area around them swelled again, causing the ground to shake, and the ship rock like mad. Tionne was scanning the skies around her, when she suddenly snapped her head to turn and look at Kam. The emotions she suddenly felt from her partner seemed to come out of nowhere, his touch within the Force going wild and then he screamed-

    "Oh Force!"

Tionne watched in shock and horror as Kam's clothes suddenly turned black, his lightsaber crimson. The noise of his agony drawing the attention of the troopers who began to open fire at them. Tionne could not believe what she was seeing. She knew of Kam's dark past, and they had spoke of it before, but to see it suddenly come to life before her was, well it was impossible. But there it was.

The sudden snap-hiss as Jaden ignited his lightsaber drew Tionne's attention as Jaden glanced at her, grimacing. 'Which one do you want?' he asked her. Tionne knew her answer. Jaden might kill Tam. Her Kam. She could not allow that to happen, not if there was some how a chance to save him. Tionne glanced at Jaden, even as she was already in motion.

"I'll take him. You take care of the troopers." she stated darkly, as she moved quickly. Right now, Kam was in pain, moving in flux with the strange anomaly. She had to take him out quickly, before he could regain his focus, and attack.

"Sorry, Kam..", Tionne whispered softly, as she became a blur of motion, her blade spinning rapidly as she closed in on him. Of course, that was a simple distraction, as she grabbed one of the many chunks of debris flying around them, and deflected it, to knock him out as quickly as she could. A quick kick, to what she hope would finish the discussion for now, until they could get to the ship at least. Or away from whatever this was, that was going so very wrong right now.
