I came to this conclusion independently as well before I stumbled upon your post. To expand upon this further, Shiva is also referred to as "The Auspicious One." Auspicious meaning favorable or conducive to success. The term is closely related to Feng Shui: a Chinese philosophical system of harmonizing everyone with the surrounding environment.

I love it when evil empires in the real world do Newspeak. An organized mass massacre in which hundreds of thousands were killed is known as the "Auspicious Incident". You can't make this $#%@ up.

 

I also believe Order 66 is missing one more six; George just didn't want to take it quite that far. The Great Jedi purge is reminiscent of the Friday The Thirteenth myth: the purge of the Templar Knights.

 

And the Night of the Long Knives, for that matter.

 

I hope we learn more about the Sith shrine below the Jedi Temple.

 

What Sith shrine below the Jedi Temple? Oh right, that Story Group nonsense from Tarkin, which also includes the Jedi Temple being destroyed or some such. Like I seriously need more osik like that, we already got plenty of that kind of thing under Lucas' direction.

 

I'm quite interested in the very strong recent emphasis on ancient Force Shrines/Temples across media. Waiting for the concept to show up in the Marvel books next.

I'm so glad the word osik is no longer canon.

 

That wasn't a Sith shrine, that was a Force nexus on the site where the Jedi Temple was built, which was later tainted by the death of Lord Nyax.

 

It's also no longer canon and therefore unlikely to appear.

There's a Sith Shrine under their now though? Hmm, knew I should've pre-ordered Tarkin. Ah well, i'll pick it up from Barnes and Noble tomorrow.

 

Are you gonna be that guy we read about someday on the news that builds a Sith shrine in his backyard?

 

The Sith shrine is the only post-legends announcement Sith history that we have, hence my interest in it.

 

Also the fact, from the Crystal Crisis on Utapau TCW arc, that ancient Sith wars/plots traditionally involved Kyber-crystal powered superweapons...

 

Really looking forward to this novel the most! I love the cover art, really stands out and pops at you. I saw someone speculate Cad Bane might be in it. I'd literally fall on the floor dead... Would love to see more Cad Bane and what he's up to, and what his thoughts might be on the Rise of the Empire. Actually just give me a Bane-centric novel/comic and I'll be happy!

 

When exactly is this supposed to come out? I'll probably buy it since it features Sidious.
