Ok punks! I'm going to do it!

The parental units are away for the weekend and i'm going to set up my brothers projector and cinema screen in our living room.

I've mapped out a rough timetable of our (I have a Padawan friend participating also) movie schedule and it looks something like this.

    11.00am The Phantom Menace

    1.30pm Attack of the Clones

    4.00pm Revenge of the Sith

    6.45pm A New Hope

    9.00pm The Empire Strikes Back

    11.30pm Return of the Jedi

    So what do you think?

Am I crazy or a visonary?

I will be taking pictures throughout the day so I can post back to you and you can all get a chance to see how much I go downhill.

This will be a day long remembered in the history of movie marathons.

May the force be with me.

It seems crazy that you gunna watch the first 5 then watch the sixth the next day. You can't sit through 5 films and not do the last one!

Opp. Fixed that now. Jedi was going to start at 12.00am, but I changed it to start a little earlier and forgot to change to "a" to a "p".

So apart from my suspect attention to detail, do you think it can be done?

We're talking plenty of pizza and beer here.

I'm a serious movie marathon'er and if I don't prepare properly, I could do myself a serious injury.

    Uhmmmm.

We're going to re-enact it scene for scene in my living room.

You know, get a bit of audience participation going.....

I could never do it though. I would just get bored about half way through AOTC, I can't sit still for 2 hours without spending the next hour running around or something. I find it hard to keep still.

Plus, wouldn't this damage your eyes? Or you could get a blood clot or something too.

I'd start a little earlier than 11. But that's just me.

I hope you've taken toilet breaks into account. You'll need them.

Good luck all the same [face_peace]

Welshguy - can I have the comfy end of the sofa this time please mate? Not the one where you spilt the real ale down when you fell asleep last time...and the springs are going?

I am looking forward to it - I will bring my blackout goggles for the Ewoks sections of ROTJ or else I may just choose to forget to take those calming pills again....[face_skull]

You know for a second there I thought my mate had logged onto this site and was posting.[face_worried]

It's been a long day, what can I say.

We have done this kind of thing before though. We had a Marrix marathon once. That was pretty cool.

I've never really had the energy to do a LOTR marathon.

I think it would take about 72 hours to see all the extended movies.

Edit: How about Darth name for Alan?

What about Darth Norwich? Or maybe Darth A-HAA!

The extended edition LOTR marathon, if you don't watch the credits, clocks in at just under 11 hours, so a bit shorted than watching the SW marathon.

I'm sure i'll get around to seeing the LOTR marathon someday.

I am a big fan of the movies, but Star Wars and Matrix will always be my personal faves.

Thanks for the good vibes ObiWanCon. It's nice to know that there are REAL men on this forum who arnt afraid of a little marathon.

    And so it begins!

The Phantom Menace will be starting any minute now people.

I had a phone call last night. An old friend asked if "watch the movies he could" with us??

    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v214/Welshguy/yoda.jpg]

Well, would you turn down a 900 year old Jedi Master??

    Ok, half way through.

We're running about 2 hours behind schedule and i'm actually starting to believe that I do in fact have Jedi powers!

We just finished the PT and now we're starting on the OT.

    Wish us luck!

We had a bit of a problem half way through Clones when the DVD player stopped working.

It turned out that Yoda was sitting on the remote and actually pressing the pause button!

    Seriously. I swear. A puppet??

    Anyway. Back to the movies!
