I took it to mean he'd been kicked out of the Corellian Academy not the Imperial.

 

Luke's referring to the Imperial Academy when he says "the academy", so we can assume Han's talking about the same thing. Regardless, those lines aren't from those shots.

 

@Xander Vos you shouldn't take trailers so literally. Unless you see two characters standing in front of each other delivering a particular line to one another you can never be certain when or where those lines are intended to take place within the movie (if they are going to be in the movie at all).

 

That was my perception.

 

Yeah, I bet over half of what is said in the trailer won't be in the film. Lines can be recorded specifically for the trailer.

 

It's a shame trailers have become so potentially deceptive - it really undermines the appeal of them.

 

Solo made me super excited for this book. Han and Qi'ra were so cute. Already pre-ordered.

 

Anyone find it in stores today? I couldn't find a copy when I looked earlier.

I've read it twice since I bought it this afternoon, and I'm not sure what's so "head-wall" about that chapter.

Plans stamps "admiral-level and above" are pretty impressive though.

I found it a fairly fun read both times.

 

I misinterpreted something. Not royally, but enough that I’m glad I was wrong. Surprisingly, I’m glad I kept reading. I’m about 100 pages from the end and almost find myself enjoying it.

 

I snagged a copy from Barnes and Noble today and finished it in a couple hours. I wanted to find out what started the whole drama surrounding the dice and Han and Qi'ra being some sort of undermining attempt against Han and Leia.

Whoever started that rumor about the dice's origins lied. Dice aren't even mentioned.

I couldn't find anything consistent with that, either. I don't think they even kiss once, or have any notable "romantic tension".

 

There somewhat is. There's constant mention about Qi'ra's smile doing "something" to Han, but it all circles around a typical crush/infatuation, and a growing relationship oerall (ie: friendship), instead of a long-lasting/serious romance.

 

Those sections could be interpreted as the "beginning" of their attraction/feelings for one another but in no way shape or form does this book present the idea that Han and Qi'ra undermine Han's later romance with Leia.
