    Solo- goes it alone

Darth Vader- Dutch for Dark Father

    Chewbacca- GL's dog

    Nute Gunray- Probable political commentary.
First name a variation of Newt (Former speaker of the House) Last name a variation of "Reagan" with syllables reversed.

R2-D2- Number of a roll of film, I think. GL thought it fit nicely.

Darth Vader- Dutch for Dark Father

no it isn't. Darth doesn't mean a thing in Dutch at all, and Vader is originally derided from "Invader". Truth is, in the earliest scripts Vader wasn't anyone's father at all and was even a good guy. The character we know now as Darth Vader was originally named Prince Valorum.

The Anakim were a race of giants with six fingers and six toes from Biblical Old Testament times. Goliath (as in David and Goliath) was an Anakim.

Endor is also from the Old Testament. A region in Israel.

Specically it's where Saul had a witch summon the spirit the Judge who annoited him.

It's where Saul discovered that his evil kingship was repudiated

Yoda means warrior, it is derived from the Sanskrit Youdhha -- which also means warrior.

Mace, What you fell for was one of "Lucas", BS diatrabes. It can happen to anyone. So don't feel too bad.

Though it is true that Vader happens to be Father in Dutch.

    Donker is Dark though.

Padme: lotus I think, which has symbolism in Asian cultures. I think it means lotus... Horrid memory...
Tycho: The name of a Greek warrior, I think has a brief mention in The Iliad.
Darth: Not an actual word, meant to sound like dark.
Eeth koth: Said by some to come from "Eek! A Moth", though I personally doubt that.
Jaina: Name came at random said to just be from alliteration. Jacen: Jaina :: Luke : Leia (sorry if I have the format wrong, but blank is to 2nd blank as 3rd is to 4th.)

Lusankya Prison, probably named for Lubyanka Prison in Moskow.

Rip Calkin = Cal Ripkin (Someone else pointed this out)

Tycho, possibly for Tycho Brahae, an astronomer.

I was told 'Darth vader' was Hungarian for Dark Father.

"Padme" is definately derived from the Nepalese word for "Lotus", yes. Because it is the term for the flower representing serenity in Buddhist lore, tt is a term that many modern day Buddhists (including yours truly) are familiar with. It is also the name of the meditating position.

Finally, it pays to be Indian.
