Saturday Oct 7th at the Byham theater. Shows at 7pm and 10pm. Tickets $10 and $20. Pitt has a football game that day with the time TBA, so I'll probably get Marie and myself tickets for the 10pm show. What does everyone else think?

Update: Tickets for the 7pm show are available starting at Row E. 10pm still has row A.

 

I definately want to see this. So I'm in.

 

I chatted with Dan and here's what we came up with.

I am willing to be the purchaser of tickets (with folks paying me back, of course).

Since tickets are already on sale, we need to act fast. If you would like to sit with the SWAP group, post in this thread by MONDAY NOON. Monday afternoon I will order tickets for the 7PM show at the $20 rate. (with this show, the closer to the stage, the better.)

We can plan later if we want to meet for dinner or go out afterwards.

How does that sound?

In Dan's update tickets are only available in row E. I hope they don't sell out by monday.

 

I'll try to monitor how fast the tickets are selling.

 

The news of this broke yesterday, in the thursday arts section. And
this guy was featured on Tuesday in THIS ARTICLE
on the YAHOO Weird-News-of-the-Day page. (hmmmph')

No doubt this will get wide visibility in the Sunday paper, so best to
do the group order thing before then. (discounts for groups of 10 or more, btw)

I was thinking of the $10 tix myself. Did any of you see this before?
(was this guy at C3?) Would the extra $20 for the upgrade be worth it?
(LOL -- can you tell im on the 'new-daddy'-allowance plan?)

 

Yes, the $20 is worth it. And there is lots of subtle hand gestures and facial expressions that make closer better.

We are worried about a sell out, which is why the monday deadline (a very quick quick for us. Usually we have to discuss everything in committee for a week before doing anything )

Well, just so everyones fully informed. If you simply purchase
on-line, the max number of tickets is EIGHT (8), which also
incurs a $31 handling charge (+$4 per ticket).

Perhaps something can be done about this if tickets are purchased
directly at the venue (the Byham theater)? I dunno.

The page says that group discounts are avaialable for 10 or more,
and the Toy group seems to have committed to 4 seats already,
and maybe more. It might be best to have Greencat merge our
two orders, and see what kind of rate she can negotaite.

That sounds like a good idea EM. Perhaps they would even be willing to block out two rows for both groups until we can tell them how many people are coming? Maybe not, but a thought.

 

So far we have 7 people committed to tickets (not counting Rox, who is likely to want them.) See my post up above for the tally.

I am willing to call on Monday to talk about getting a group rate if we get the ten people. Also, I tried to go over to the collectors board to 'formally' invite them to get in on this, but for some reason I couldn't convince it to let me post. So could someone go over there and invite them and say they have to give a definite yes or no by noon on Monday on THIS thread. Thanks.

 

I'm in for this. I unfortunatley didn't get the chance to see him at either C2 or C3. I've only seen the short little bit that he did on Conan O'Brien. So to see the whole thing would be great.

My Wife and I would love to go with you all to this. We saw him on Good Morning America a few months ago and he is hilarious! So if you get a group discount let me know so I can get the money to whoever needs it or if not, Let me know and I will just buy them from the website.

 

Here's the folks that have signed up for tickets for the 7PM $20 show. We should have enough folks for a group rate and I'll ask about it Monday. Payment will be made to me, either at the annual picnic if you are going or you could mail me a check or you could just give me the money at the show on Oct. 7 I'll post the individual cost Monday evening.

Tickets have been purchased. With the group discount, the individual cost comes to $18.95. I can be paid by a check mailed to me (PM me for address) or if you will see me at the picnic and have the money or you can give me the money at the actual performance on Oct. 7
