Does anyone know why that strange thing above is happening (where some quotes appear in a single letter column) It has happened a few times.
STTNG is probably one of the top rated sci fis of the world though as television. I love Star Wars but there is more to life for me than Star Wars. Blade Runner is a over looked classic for example and there's a lot of good entertainment out there. Star Wars has some sort of magic that can't be copied but it copied alot of sci fis before it... Buck Rogers to name one. I think I like a variety of science fictions. And I don't think that Star Wars isnt brilliant and a classic but Star Trek has a lot of solid entertainment value and as some one who loves Sci Fi Star Trek The Next Generation is fairly high end entertainment on the television. Star Wars is one of a kind because people rate it above everything else Sci Fi ... Firefly was another great series.
Let me ask you this. Has any Star Trek movie made more money than any Star Wars film? I think that alone will tell you who wins the argument.
Logan's Run came out just a year sooner. It wasn't as good as Star Wars but it was a very decent sci fi for its day. People rate Star Wars higher than EVERYTHING Sci Fi. Arguments, evidence, proof , whatever. I was born in 87. I don't even know what made Star Wars so amazing. I might not ever know but I grew up with 4, 5, and 6 and loved them all . But since then I've found Sci Fis that I love just as much even if Star Wars is rated as high as a fraking religion. Star Wars isn't a major part of popular culture it's a major HINDERENCE because people worship it like God . And there's plenty of diverse and very entertaining and well done sci fis that I love just as much as Star Wars. Star Wars has become a empire and has some how ruined every other sci fi for most people... It's not Star Wars...in some ways I've seen Sci Fis that did things far better than they were done in Star Wars ever....
Is Star Wars actually science fiction though? Fantasy seems to fit it better as it is about good vs. evil and the supernatural in a way. Trek fits the classic definition of science fiction - man against nature, man against machine, man against self in an imagined scientific and technological evironment. Or the like.
Yeah, if that's the case, and I considered it, it's wrong. Lando's only in 1 1/2 of the OT. So SW has a BIG 3.
You're the one claiming that there are more than a BIG 3 as I've been referring to them. There aren't. As I already stated Lando was only in 1 1/2 of the movies. Hardly considered a BUIG character.
A friend once said to me, "The difference between Star Wars and Star Trek is that Star Wars is REAL" I wa jus.s....ss...t......like
