Full Series Star Wars Rebels Blu-ray news/discussion

A lot of Disney releases have been region free lately so hopefully that's the case here.

 

Because of this, I have already pre-ordered the American release. This now makes it 2 strikes against Disney:

1. Lossy soundtrack for The Lost Missions.
2. Blu-ray of Rebels Season 1 only released in America.

Does Disney think because the franchise is American, there are fans only in America?

 

Yep, will probably follow suit, or order the European release. Amazon Germany is reasonably priced.

perhaps the trade off is that the UK gets the rebels comic!!!

 

I think the problem is that with the Complete Saga and the Clone Wars Blu-ray releases, George understood that the franchise has a huge fanbase worldwide so he made sure that what one territory got, everyone got it regardless of location. But since he is not involved with Rebels, Disney decides who gets what.

 

I bought the American Bluray for CW season 6 and it was region free. I'll be doing the same for Rebels.

 

Well, fine I guess Disney don't want my money as a non-American peasant then. I'll spend it somewhere else then.

...I was wondering has it been confirmed if the Spark of Rebellion will be the prologue version with Vader or the original broadcast version?

 

But is that an import of the US version or a proper UK version now that Disney have realised they have to produce since they are basically alienating a lot of the market by not releasing a regional version of the series...?

I'm still holding out hope that the bad batch will be included in the special features

 

I have a couple of updates.

1. Australia WILL BE getting the Blu-ray version.
2. Did an online chat with Amazon UK last night and they have confirmed that the Blu-ray will feature DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1!!!!!!!!

Disney Australia sent me the full 2-disc breakdown with running times for all content and one thing I noticed is that Spark of Rebellion Part 1 is 1 minute longer than part 2 which made me wonder if it'll have the extended cut?

 

That seems likely since SoR on Netflix (in Sweden and a few other countries) has that Vader scene in the beginning. I don't see why they would release it with the scene on one place and without on another.

 

I actually had no idea this was released as two separate episodes. Where does the first part end?

 

It's a week away and we have next to nothing in terms of details. Unless I missed on a breakdown of bonus features and an image of the back cover.

 

Do we even know if there are bonuses?

This might be worth getting then.

 

On TV I think it ends when Ezra is left behind by Zeb.

 

DVD Empire finally has a picture of the back cover. It's region free which is good news if you aren't getting a release in your country.

I should also mention that the review confirms that Vader scene is in Spark of Rebellion.

 

The US version is actually region free? Amazon says the opposite...
