Full Series Star Wars Rebels Season 3 Discussion (Spoilers Allowed)

If they used same style as CGI of Rebels, they could reuse some of the models.

Still I would have no problem if we got Western animation with an Anime influence in appearance. Worked for Avatar.

 

I just really like that art style. It has the grit one would expect from that kind of show.

 

I wish there was something like this for the clone wars.

Imagine seeing in that style of animation V wings, ARC-170 fighters and Republic Y wings coming out of a Venator at a swarm of droid fighters.

 

But that only happened when multiple groups of villains appeared, so basically when Dooku threw Ventress to the wolves and the Nightsisters appeared, leading into the introduction of Savage and Maul. And none of the villain-centered stories featured the main bad guys, only Maul, Savage and Ventress, who were rarely on good terms with the Separatists or Dooku.

Perhaps that Maul will shake things up once more and allow for that kind of story to come back, who knows. Or maybe that the Presence will also allow for that kind of stuff.

 

I'm a little confused right now about the season 3 premier. The first episode is up on the Disney XD app (~40 minutes). Is this ep 1 & 2 combined?

 

Yes. They're two production episodes but form a double length premiere.

It's already on the WatchDisneyXD app. Most of has already seen it.

 

I keep getting errors trying to play it in the app. They must have caught on.

 

They put episodes up early at the beginning of the day, on the day they are supposed to be aired every week. It's purposeful, we'll be getting early Rebels every week except the major episodes like the finales and stuff.

Seriously, though, all of the Disney XD bumpers and commercials make me cringe hard.

"Force feeding evil a beat down breakfast" comes to mind.

 

Regarding that clip for next week's ep:

Looks like Maul just stabbed that poor Rebel redshirt and left him for dead. Typical Maul...

 

Actually my personal guess is that Maul intentionally left the rebel alive so that Ezra and Kanan would inevitably follow into Maul's trap.

 

Seeing as they gave him a brief mention, I wonder if we'll be seeing Dodonna this season.

So I take it we are in 2BBY now? There seems to have been another significant time jump from the end of season 2 to start of season 3.

 

Season 3 takes place 6 months after Season 2's finale.

 

Ok so we are then either at the very tail end of 3BBY or the very beginning of 2BBY.
