Oh, so when something mocks everything that Star Wars stands for to me, I can't slam it, there is nothing for me in TCW.

    I. Ego is pleonastic.

II. Vis is second person present active indicative -- you want volo (no pun intended).

III. You neglected to include a complementary verb.

IV. Hanc or hunc would be more appropriate depending on which noun the demonstrative was modifying but in either cause a neuter is highly unlikely.

YOU CANNOT USE GOOGLE TRANSLATE FOR LATIN.

It's bad enough for modern languages but its beyond inept for an inflected language. Moreover it's just ill bred to pretend to know a language in hopes of looking more educated. Should be a bannable offense too.

Jello, just peace and quiet. I think Google Translate works just fine, and it should be mocked. So it should not. Good for you ban a word with Google.
    Nice surreal phrases should be.

i am not trying to bash it. It had some entertaining aspects, but anything Lucas touches the past 14 years has been a joke. I am glad fresh hands are on the new rebels series

Obviously there is a comedy exception for Backstroke of the West pastiches and such. But that only works in English because most people can't tell how horribly mangled foreign languages are.

I think "ill bred" may just be the perfect insult. As with anything that attacks one's very family and DNA, it's one of the most insulting things one can say, yet it sounds like poetry. Any comeback will sound barbarous by comparison.

The Clone Wars was not a complete fiasco. We Star Wars fans gained some great episodes and story arcs.

The real and true SW fan only likes the original theatrical version of the OT and hates everything else for principle no matter what. Which makes me wonder why they come here.

Years ago I read a funny (and imho spot on) article that basically says SW fans like the idea of SW, but hate most of the product.

That applies to just about any sci-fi fandom, to be honest.

    Or fandom really.

Though I have to admit, the difference between the reception of TCW here and on other sites can really surprise me.

Thankfully, vong333's views doesn't represent the average tv viewer nor non-lit SW fan. :p

Five years ago, I would never have believed we'd see Mandalorians, Onderon, Mon Calamari, Dathomiri Nightsisters nor Celestials on tv. The show gave us this much and a lot more.

Don't forget Falleen as well as Monument flippin' Plaza. For all that TCW did wrong (and booooy was there lots of it), I think just the chance to see all that on screen made it worth it.

edit: Also I still think Celestials are silly but whatever.

Oh yes, the show had its lows and it had its LOWS. But when it worked, if was firing on all cylinders. I think being SW helped get a lot of stuff past the radar that other animated shows couldn't get away with.

EDIT: Oh yes, the Falleen and Black Sun. And spice smugglers with spice-addled eyeballs. I loved the Pykes. And Ilum.

And Hutt Space being seen and mentioned explicitly, among most of the other EU regions. Though I like to think it was Sam Witwer who altered his line to include the name of the region and not any script writer. He is a huge SW geek.

He did make a lot of Maul's ramblings the Sith Code while in-studio, it wouldn't surprise me.

The Expanded Universe is not holy writ (Waru, Crystal Star) and televised does not mean good (Ewok movies, Holiday Special) but--overall, I liked the Clone Wars.

Lots and lots of Expanded Universe stuff and good characterization.

I don't get the Ahsoka disdain I read on here and other places. She is a great character and was one of my favorites in TCW. I honestly got tears in my eyes in the last episode.

I also don;t get why most people need to crack insult jokes about everything and anything turning Star Wars into humor and stupid parodies. I cant STAND comedy parodies. Really sick of it online. All these people wasting their time on boring, stupid comedy parodies when they could be making something that is actually cool.

Anyway, I hope to see her again.

OK. That's your opinion, some people disagree with you. What's to "get"? Liking or disliking a character is a matter of taste.

I personally don't get why some people like her, but I neither need nor want an explanation, as it would be a waste of my time as well as a waste of time for the person doing the explaining.

No idea what you're referring to, but it sounds like a matter of taste again.

To use another example, I'd rather hit myself over the head with a brick than watch reality TV, but it's really none of my business what other people enjoy.

I'm not sure what point you're making with these two paragraphs. Everyone should like what you like and hate what you hate? OK.

I guess one of us will be happy with the outcome.

Is that a rhetorical question or is Rebels really going to be that small scale?
